This is a message i recieved from a friend who shall not be named. Maybe Boise isn't that bad .

Golfer,
Call 1-800-847-4843. The Idaho State Travel Guide people. They will send you a 120 page free guide for Idaho and Boise. I grew up in the Midwest and believe me there is nothing there that compares to Idaho. Why would you come to Boise?

We have over 3600 miles of real whitewater; over 80 named mtn ranges;the largest wilderness area in the lower 48 plus 6 national forests;
world class skiing, nice golf courses; pleasant weather; great hunting and fishing; low crime; friendly people ( I have not locked my house door in 30 years and leave my car keys in the ignition). Idaho is also the last state that Americans of European descent set foot into.
The Fall in Idaho seems to go on forever--from early September until Thankgiving weekend. Feel free to share this info but don't mention me since we in Idaho like visitors who go home.

Hmm maybe i'll visit.... :idea:

It's not true

We're crime infested, smog ridden and high in unemployment :wink:

But you make it out and we'll set up a round or two of golf. We can hit some links style courses or maybe a mountain course or two. Let's get a BGSU-BSU golf challenge going.

Relax RoughRider, it's the Californians everyone is trying to convince NOT to move to Boise. :lol:

We have some good golfers, a challenge like that would be cool... but since I'm not one of the decent golfers, I'll play spectator in the gallery. If I used a golf-style moniker to post, it would have to be "SliceMeister".

An advantage that Boise State has over Bowling Green is that they have a wrestling program. Wrestling is great to watch and I'm dissappointed that BGSU cut their team back in the 80's.

We actually have a pretty good Wrestling program.... good enough to win 2 Pac-10 Wrestling Championships and one year as runner-up over the last 5 years. Many of our wrestling coaches are products of the midwestern wrestling breadbasket.

One of our grapplers in action at this year's Pac-10 championships:
