Including TWO Josh Harris clones . . .

Absolutely amazing list, particularly at the top . . . With a few less hectic weeks coming up here's to hoping that his old BG friends turn some heads this weekend and give a few of these guys a call . . .

Damn, I love Urban Meyer!

Wow, that's quite the list considering the place Utah was when he went out there. BG, for all the progress we've made, is still not drawing any interest from 4 star guys. That's huge on a national scale.

Urban Meyer is right there with Stoops, Tressel, Saban, etc in my book. That guy can flat out coach & recruit. The performance last evening was totally dominating.

I still feel BG is in some good hands, but I'd gladly take Urban back in a heartbeat. I hate the way he left us, but anyone who questions his coaching abilities or practices needs to just shut up, cuz this man knows what he's doing.

hammb - we met last year, and I hope you take this as a compliment, because i truly mean it to be.

You are the BG fan who p1sses off more fellow BG fans than anyone else. Defending Ohio State, pumping up OU, and openly declaring your love for Urban Meyer.

I may not agree with you, but I admire how you don't go along with the herd all the time.

I am not one to follow the herd, I will continue to voice my opinions as I see fit. If everyone's opinions are all the same, why are we bothering to have any discussion at all?

I have been a lifelong OSU fan, so I will defend them in some ways. I will not defend their fans that think they are king crap because they are an OSU fan. Good for you, it's a good team & a good program. Don't live vicariously through your football team.

I pump OU, because they are good. They are very, very good. Among the best in the country. Unlike OSU they don't keep games close. They won't hesitate to blow us out, and very much have the capability to cover that spread. I don't think they will, because I think we're good enough to keep it closer than that, however if we make some errors early those could snowball to cause an ugly game. I only stand pat against those that feel there is "NO WAY" that OU will cover the spread. Just as I disagree with those that feel there is "NO WAY" that BG can win. On any given Saturday...

As for Urban Meyer, how can any BG fan NOT love him? He brought us from the lowest of the low. In one year he rebuilt us to formidable. In his 2nd year we were nationally known. Yes, he bolted. Yes, I cannot stand him for what he did. But I still love & respect Urban Meyer the football coach. Did you watch that game last night? They were darn impressive. The fact that he's got 4 star recruits listing Utah as a school of interest only furthers my opinion of him. It is my belief that Urban Meyer is one of the best football coaches in the NCAA, and I stand behind that belief. I watch a lot of football, and I know a well coached team; Urban's teams ALWAYS look well coached.

Falcon30, I hope you take this as a compliment, because i truly mean it to be.

You are the sports fan who p1sses off more fellow sports fans than anyone else.

Your blind allegiance to your teams and your “either with us or against us” attitude is remarkable!

Being 44-years old and having lived through the final 18 years of the Woody Hayes era at OSU, I was born and raised on Buckeye football. If you are a football fan and grew-up in the state of Ohio, how can you not respect the tradition in Columbus?

Does that make me any less of a fan of my beloved alma mater, BGSU? Certainly not! Same goes for respecting the Oklahoma program. Just because we have them on the schedule this year doesn’t mean I can’t respect what Bob Stoops has done to carry on a rich tradition of Sooner football.

Finally, what’s wrong with giving Urban Meyer his due? We at BG owe him a great deal for what he did for our football program. I heard him speak at an alumni event in the Cleveland-area when he first took the job at BG. I came away impressed and could see how he would be a great leader of young men.

Falcon30, can you remember back to your first job out of college? Should those folks at your old employer not respect you and the job you did because you moved on to bigger and better things?

War Falcons!

You can have your allegiance...but this isn't a glorified buckeye messageboard. People don't want to hear about the bucks on this board they can get that anywhere else.

I was born and raised here in Ohio but I don't think it's my duty to kiss osu @ss. I have family that went to Indiana University and I grew up breathing Hoosier basketball, but you don't see me on this message board comparing IU basketball history to BG basketball history and touting that BG basketball will never be on the same level. I'm a Falcon, a very proud one at that. If IU played BG in any sport there's no doubt or hesitation who I'm rooting for because I'm a FALCON!!!!

You took my post totally wrong. What you portray is not me by any means. That Voltaire quote is a favorite of mine. I LOVE having hammb around. I was raised as an OSU fan, I am not anymore. That doesn't mean I don't respect the history of OSU.

Sheesh. Chill out a little bit.

Tricky:

I grew up in a house that loved Buckeye football. My brother still does (he did undergrad at Akron and MBA at Kent; he blames their poor track records for his continued allegiance to OSU!). That never really rubbed off on me and, once I enrolled at Bowling Green, I became a Falcon fan for life.

That being said, I don't have any disrespect for OSU or its program. Their tradition is long and proud. But like you said, there are other places for them to trumpet their pride.

Did I disagree with this?

No.

Your post really hacked me off. Be a little more careful next time attacking someone for something that exists only in your perception.

Suffice to say that I did not take your post in nearly the same context as Rollo did.

Thanks...I thought I was kinda clear, especially with the quote at the end of it. Rock on, hammb.
