Warthog,
I also saw the mistakes. 2 popped out to me, it said that PJ was a 2nd team All-MAC running back, and it also named Cornelius McGrady as a junior. I have to say that I was quite disappointed in the article. It sounded like something that was written in a national magazine, not by a paper that is 20 miles north of Bowling Green. I feel it was quite disrepectful of the program. John Wagner has written some pretty crappy articles about BG that I have read lately. What ever happened to Matt Markey writing the BG articles?
Boo the Toledo Blade!!!

I sent a note to the Sports editor last week regarding the mistakes in the the BG roster they printed. Here is the exact response I received (no editing on my part!):
"MR. SCHROEDER: my apologies on the roster. i don't know the source of that roster, but i'll find out so it won't happen again.
bob kinney"
Does anyone who has taken first grade English want to respond to this idiot? For crying out loud, he is the Sports Editor at "One of America's Great Newspapers" and he made about 10 mistakes in a two sentence e-mail. No wonder they couldn;t get the roster right!

I don't see the problem. He apologized. I don't see any grammatical errors.
In my experience, a whole lot of editors write in all small letters. I'm not sure why, but it does help distinguish notes intended to stay in house from copy intended for publication.

While what you say is probably true, this was not an in-house communication. I find it offensive that he could not take the time to compose a grammatically correct replay to my letter.

Matt Markey does a great job

Matt Markey of The Blade does a super job covering and writing sports. Being a Falcon alumnus, I wouldn't normally spend two seconds reading about the teams on Bancroft. However, since Matt has started writing about UT, I do read his articles.
My guess is that Matt is highly regarded and was asked to step into a situation where the relationship between The Blade and UT athletics wasn't what was desired, and Matt has helped to make things work all the way around.
