Anyone here remember Kyle Turano? I remember he was a lousy placekicker for the Falcons in 2000...

Well, the Akron Beacon Journal is reporting he has won the punting job as a 5th yr SR. All they said was "a former transfer who just earned a scholarship last week"....blah blah blah.

Thanks for stating where he transferred from, ABJ!

At least they stated Ron Lewis was a OSU transfer from BG.

I remember

I remember that guy. He's the one who kicked off in the 2000 BG vs. Michigan game when Fleming was sick. Then he filled in for Mike Knapp when he had consistency problems. He never panned out. I wasn't impressed with his leg strength either. The sad thing was they had Suisham and Turano on scholarship at the time and Knapp beat them both.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but was Suisham injured in Spring 2000 AND Fall 2000? Or, was he just injured Spring 2000?

Kyle Turano supposedly does have an EXCELLENT LEG...the question is does he have a strong leg when under pressure... I played football with him at Worthington Kilbourne (in c-bus) and he kicked an 84 yd. punt in practice one day  He's a good kid though, I wish him well at OSU

the answer is..

May have a strong leg for punting...but not for placekicking. At least, in the games I saw, he wasn't a strong-legged placekicker.
