So, I have heard from some people who have seen practices that I was correct on my post for the starting O-Line for Wisc. I predicted in the depth chart post that the O-line will be:

LT- Nystrom
LG-Big D
C - Lichtenstieger (sp? once again)
RG-Watson
RT-Warren

I was told that Lich would not make the move to C. However, I have heard that Watson has been thrown in there consistently with the first team at right gaurd. He was listed as a back up in the spring ball PDF.

Here is what I think is going on. I think that Stud doesn't want to let people know what we are doing. I think that he wants any edge he can get. Obviously our Offense has been weighed, tested and passed with flying colors. Hmm, do we think our passing game (provided we have pass protection) will be a surprise to anyone? If we put up 450+ everygame, will we get any love from Trev Alberts? I think NO and NO. So, this seasons offense lies in the hands of 1 senior starter, 1 first time junior starter, 1 all american soph and 2 first time sophs. We have been talking about the Five blocks of granite for a while now. It is time that more then just Lich. get in there. I have heard to be honest that realistically speaking, that class was talented but we could truly expect 3 and only 3 o-linemen from that class to start. That is not too shabby. I feel that we have Omar for one more year. If we continue the way things have gone, his back up will be better then him (Josh -> Omar -> ?)

So, I guess this post was more of a vent session. I am new to the whole posting thing but I promise you, I follow BGSU football with the best of them and a truer falcon you will not find. However, for those of you in the great state of Ohio that are capable of attending spring ball....you can see that I feel that next year's offense will depend on the O-line (as it always seems to, but this year is of special interest with a few virgins jumping in). Let me know what you guys think. I trust your opinion. Further, I think that the post that stated that you guys should split into groups to "scout" a specific position was a great idea. The spring game is right around the corner. Clearly, I would scout the O-line if I was there.

Anyways, keep the good times coming. Sorry this is so long. I thoroughly love reading what you guys post and I love seeing what you guys SEE even more. Go falcons. Let me know what you think

The OLine is the least of my worries with this team. It seems we lose an all conference guy or two every year and every year we just reload. Heck, this year it looks like we're going to use bigger ammo!!

The starting Dline isn't a concern either. If the kids like Mack, Schaefer and Davis can step up and provide some depth, we'll be set. When you add all that talent we recruited for the interior line on both sides of the ball this year to the holdovers, we might have the best interior lineman in the conference. Considering all the kids we've lost on the Dline that should still be here(Crossley, Bryant, Leininger. Campbell), that's pretty amazing

So far as being part of the "popular crowd"....work in some references to 80's bands like Tesla and Asia, old television shows like the "White Shadow" and "Saved by the Bell" (not the college years) and former players who were good enough to be noticed, but not good enough to be memorable to casual fans (Greg Meehan, Norman Hammoud and Artie Mangham are examples) and you'll be fine. Folks on this board eat stuff like that up like a fat kid eats jam.

Though I've not seen any practices this year, being 2.5 hrs. away, the only thing I found interesting about your evaluation is that you have Warren moving to RT from his normal LT spot from a year ago....this wouldn't seem to make sense to me...as most of us know, the LT is critical to a Right handed QB, even one who's fairly mobile. Changing Warren to RT would involve yet another change on the line... only way this would make sense to me is if one of the "blocks of granite" is vastly more comfortable at LT and Rob is versatile enough to make the switch.

I believe BGSU fan made a mistake and flipped the players on the line. If it was not a mistake, it is wrong, because Warren is staying at LT, and the last I heard, Lichtensteiger is staying at LG. Center will be either John Lanning or Jonathan Culp, but is still undecided, right guard will be either Big D (Derrick Markray) or Pat Watson but is still undecided, and right tackle will be Drew Nystrom.

On another note, I have talked with Scott Mruczowski several times in the past weeks and he is very excited about the upcoming draft. Several teams have expressed interest, and he is likely to go anywhere between the 3rd and 5th rounds. For those Cincinnatians, many of the analysts have projected him to go to the Bengals in the 4th round as their current center is in his mid-30s and suffered an injury this past season.

It was re-iterated in the Sentinel story on Monday that Lichtensteiger will be staying at LG. Warren at LT, Nystrom at RT, Markray at RG and Culp and Lanning battling for the C position.

my fault, I did make a typographical error when I was writing that. I meant to have Nystrom at RT and Warren at his normal starting position of LT.

I guess we will just see how things turn out. Thank you for all your replies. It is fun to see what others think of your ideas. I am going to stick to my guns on my prediction, though I respect the reasoning behind what you all are saying. I am excited to read the posts on the Spring Game. GO BGSU.
