It was great seeing Scott at the spring game yesterday. 49 career starts...unreal!

Wow, seventh round? I think he is much better player than that. He'd be a steal that late.

They all should get drafted with the potential they have. I honestly think if any of them get drafted in a late round it's a steal.

The sad thing is that none of these NFL teams seem to realize what a consistent center Scott is. Didn't he have something like only two botched snaps in his whole career at BG? You don't just find that kind of talent hanging out in the seventh -- or third round, for that matter.
You'd think the success of so many MAC QB's would help the draft potential of other skill position players from our conference, but apparently we're still just a crappy little mid-major...

BO: On the contrary, I think they do. But as has been pointed out in other threads, there is something of a glut of centers in the NFL these days, meaning that supply may just be outpacing demand.
Also, NFL teams seem to be making a habit out of using UDFAs as a part of their team-buildling. Example, the Eagles had targeted Artis Hicks, knowing they could get him without expending a draft pick and expecting him to develop into a starter. He will very likely be in the starting lineup this fall.
As for Cole, I love the guy. And I believe that, if he hooks up with the right team, he'll be a player in the NFL for a decade or more. The foot injury won't help him, though. His numbers are impressive, yes, but there are many other receivers out there with awfully good numbers who are not coming off an injury and who posted better combine numbers.
And I love Keon, but the position switch between junior & senior year really hurts him. Think of how good Patten (sp?) was for BG and he hasn't stuck yet after going UDFA with Pittsburgh. Is Keon better? Maybe. That much better? Again, maybe.
There was talk here about Hawkins going UDFA with Pittsburgh. Hawk has the type of build that NFL coaches love in a WR - big and strong, able to go over the middle. But he wasn't the number 1 receiver for BG. You could argue he was number 3 (behind Cole & Charles) and not a lot of third receivers get drafted or even hook on.
All that being said, this draft is going to be fun to watch because there will be a lot of jockeying for position. Who knows, all the players mentioned could get drafted before it's over.

Actually, the position switch was better for Keon. He may not have the speed/man coverage skills to play corner in the NFL. Playing at the safety spot allowed him the opportunity to show off his "nose for the ball" skills. The thing they love the most about Keon is his ability to make plays in zone coverage.

BelieveNBG: True, I guess I was speaking more about the fact that he was basically learning a new position in his senior year.

Some of Cole's pro day numbers were "eh"...his forty time was only average. He measured a legit 6'-2", 195 and ran the fatest agility (three cone time) of anyone in the country. I think someone will give him a long hard look because of that.
As a comparison, some analysts think that Duante Ridgeway (Ball State) or Lance Moore (crappy trade school up north) will get drafted and Magner won't. Piffle, I say, piffle! Moore is shorter and lighter than Magner and not a bit faster and Ridgeway is a tad slower and not as productive!

I have seen some Mock Drafts having Scott go in the 4th or 5th round. It is all speculation right now

They project Murzcowski for the early seventh.
Cole and Keon as UDFA's.
So in other words, there isn't any point for BGSU fans to watch the draft.

Of course it is, that's what makes it so fun!
I've seen mocks with Cole going in the 7th round to the Jets or Jaguars. Scott could very easily go fourth or fifth round, which is where centers of his rating have historically gone.

Nathan: Not so. Scott could go mid-draft; Cole could go late. We watched the draft last year to see where Josh get tabbed.

I'll watch the draft just to see where Scott and Cole get picked.
GO FALCONS!

I'll watch to see who Philly picks!!
They could use a center to be a backup for a couple years and then take over...cough Scott cough...

A little off topic but I have a track invational on Saturday and I want to listen to the draft on the radio, but I don't know what station it would be on. If anybody can help me out it could make Saturday go a lot faster.
