The upshot: The SVFC has been decertified, but can reapply for the 2006-2007 season. The Toronto Bowl made its initial pitch, and is under review. However the word on the street was correct and there will be no game in Toronto until at least 2006, if then. The second game was approved for the Holiday Bowl group, and several other games were turned down. The main reason given was because of the number of teams likely to be available.
So its the GMAC/detroit bowls or bust.

Any news on where this bowl will be or who will receive the automatic bids? I'm guessing somewhere on the west coast with west coast teams, since it's being organized by Pacific Life.

I think it would be Mountain West versus at large, with Navy likely to play as long as they are bowl eligible. San Diego is a huge Navy town.

How about you buy one, and offer to ride it to any bowl game that gives us a bid?

If that's the case, pray for Motor City. That thing can only go 30 miles/charge.

Doesn't the MAC also have the Silicon Valley Bowl?

The Silicon Valley Bowl has been de-certified. The only reason the MAC got a bid was because the original coference (Pac-10 I think?) wasn't able to field a team elgible.
