Cole to Atlanta

I wasn't sure if you guys knew this. Cole got picked up by Atlanta last night. Atlanta just got rid of a few veteran guys. They have M. Jenkins and drafted a guy yesterday, so according to Cole, his chances of making the team seem pretty good.

Kinda makes the phrase "Always a Falcon" a little more true-to-life, doesn't it?? ;-)

Maybe BGSU has a program that gets gridiron results, and gets some pro tickets for its players, too. Fingers crossed for pre season selection.

Vick in the shotgon, ball is snapped, here comes the slot receiver- IT"s AN END AROUND,..... wait, Magner stops, looks back left, he's got Vick wide open, Magner throws..... TOUCHDOWN ATLANTA!!!!

mmmmmmmmmmm....Cole "end around" Magner......I like it...At least if Atlanta is up 3 with time running down they have somebody besides Vick to run around and take a safety as time expires.

He will have a tough time making the roster.

Peerless Price
Dez White
Michael Jenkins
Brian Finneran
Roddy White

These 5 are pretty much locks to still be on the roster come September.'

That means that Cole will have to battle Jimmy Farris and Kendrick Mosley if Atlanta keeps 6 WR

Thanks for that update, Kurt! EXCELLENT! Magner is tough and talented enough to get a serious look. Brian Brennen was a great clutch rec for the Browns and Cole has some of his traits.

Cole had some monster games against the best teams in college ball...the kid can play and someone knows that.

KICK AZZ, COLE!!

OUCH. Cole is a hard worker, so I know he won't give up, but its tough to make a team that has 5 of its WR slots set in stone going into training camp. He could fit in quite well there though. I think Cole will find his niche in the NFL eventually, but he may need a year or two on the practice squad and some NFLE time.

The dude can still play football though, I was hoping he'd be a Brown...instead we sign Lance Moore :(

I always saw Cole as a great Special Teams player, and pretty much every late-draft pick and UDFA at least gets a shot at ST.

Not to mention that their number one go-to receiver is a Tight End.

Don't know a thing about the Falcons and their cap situation, but you'll have a much clearer picture of who Cole will be going against after June 1.
Teams usually wait until after June 01 to make cuts because it allows them to stretch whatever hit they have on the cap over two seasons instead of one. (that number gets tricky to calculate because of pro-ratedsigning bonuses and back end loaded contracts--it's a black art).

Price has been a HUGE disappointment in Atlanta. Wouldn't be surprised if he was cut. And Finneran isn't anything special either. Only Jenkins, White, and White would appear to be sure things to me.

Ugh. I hadn't seen that yet this morning. But I guess what you're saying is that all the talk of "needing a strong armed QB" for the Browns doesn't matter now, as long as they can throw a bubble screen?

Congrats to Cole! As with all UDFA's, its a battle to get a roster spot, but camp is just as much about making one team as it is impressing another sometimes.
