Ugh. Looks like its email time to Pat Forde.

3. How does Marshall do in the post-Bob Pruett Era? The Thundering Herd survived one coaching change (Jim Donnan to Pruett) without a hitch, but can they do it again?

Dear Mr. Forde,

http://www.goodbyeherd.com

Thank you,
The rest of the MAC

Its still almost unfathomable to me the heights this program has risen to, with so much more to reach for. Watching the GMAC Bowl tape last night (I was ready to crash around 3, but made myself stay up until Omar's stiff arm!), I thought back to how the Vegas Bowl my freshman year seemed like such an awesome accomplishment and was something very special. The GMAC Bowl, while also special, just seemed like another step.

People can love espn.com all they want for the increased coverage of the MAC and all the nice things they say about out conference and school, but they still really don't care. If you read the MAC spring recaps, ours includes "Shane" Suisham, and they have Leininger listed as a returner. Do you think those type of mistakes will show up in an ACC spring recap? I doubt it. If ESPN isn't willing to proofread and fact check on the MAC, who is?

Um...it says the * means returners.

Sacks: Devon Parks* and Matt Leininger* (4 each)

Notice the second name... :coo-coo:

2004 statistical leaders (* returners)
Rushing: P.J. Pope* (1,098 yds)
Passing: Omar Jacobs* (4,002 yds)
Receiving: Charles Sharon* (1,070 yds)
Tackles: Jovon Burkes (91)
Sacks: Devon Parks* and Matt Leininger* (4 each)
Interceptions: Keon Newson (6)

Does this mean Leininger is back??

Good speed on the keys, hindered by the poor internet connection. The poor time in the k/bps could mean the difference in first and second round money for me.

Even with the mistakes, it is still pretty cool. By the time we get into the season and BASH THE BADGERS, they may learn to spell.

But will they learn to stop saying the MAC Conference?

How far have we come when we can complain about the coverage we are receiving from the likes of espn? Call me a simpleton, but this kind of stuff is awesome and unfathomable even 3-4 years ago. Roll on BG, roll right on and over Wisconsin and everyone else for that matter. And the next time espn writes Shane I'm going to vow to never watch or read from that network again...dammit!

Don't get me wrong, I totally agree with you, all I'm saying is nothing gets higher than ESPN, and I just see the mistakes as unacceptable. I LOVED the fact that they considered him a top Heisman candidate coming IN to the season. (Under 3 things to watch in the MAC) It just seems to me that until now alot of the major publications or networks have been cautious to make such a bold statement, one we all know is true. Pennington got screwed when Weinke won it, so Omar shouldn't be the first MAC to win it. Hopefully ESPN gets the word out early and often so another Chris Weinke doesn't have to happen again.

BG is getting a ton of exposure. It's awesome how BG is already labled as the BCS buster team of the MAC. Also how under the possible upsets has BG knocking off Wisconsin. ESPN really loves Omar and I think their love for him can only mean good things. We should not worry about the typos. I will take typos any day over having someone like Toledo in the spotlight. uuggh. We should be thankful for all the good things that this brings. This will help Omar's Heisman hopes by getting his name out there to voters and hopefully make Wisconsin wet their pants because a monster is coming to town and there is nowhere to hide!

Hey, at least they didn't give us a green falcon this time or call us BGU! That always irks me when I see us come across the ticker like that.

This part did make me a bit sick though:

1. Omar Jacobs at the controls of Gregg Brandon's high-octane offense at Bowling Green.

2. Bruce Gradkowski at the controls of Tom Amstutz's high-octane offense at Toledo.

Couldn't they at least come up with some different wording!?!?!
