His credentials are impressive, but I'm curious to see what type of plan he has for Boise.

He won't have to change his wardrobe very much. He looks good in orange! (In a purely heterosexual way of course)

Speaking of the purely heterosexual lifestyle, anybody seen that show "Teammates" on ESPN? Brutal to watch. It is basically "The Newlywed Game" except the contestants are teammates. Is it wrong to ask Reggie Wayne whether Brandon Stokely is more likely to be found in the weight room, training room, or lunch room? :? Told my wife it felt like watching "The GAY Newlywed Game". (not that there is anything wrong with that) But it was so bad, I couldn't turn the channel. :axe:

Sometimes you're lucky.

Indeed, Lovett's resume is impressive--Defensive coordinator at Mississippi and Auburn (under Tuberville), and then 3 years at Clemson (under Tommy Bowden).

At Clemson, Bowden has recently been under a lot of pressure. The last 3 years he has been around .500 in the ACC. Last year, he started the season 1-4 and the pressure began to mount. It didn't help when he lost to Duke late in the season. Clemson averaged 21 points for and 21 points against. So, after the season he fired both his offensive and defensive coordinators in order to keep the wolves at bay.

Considering that BG's defensive coordinator left after Spring Practice, a very bad time, I am thrilled that we were able to get Lovett. He would have been a super hire at any time.

I can't wait to see what our defensive style will be under Lovett. If his recent history is any indication, I expect a more aggressive approach and more blitzes.

Wow. I NEVER saw this coming! In my mind, this kind of hire (in terms of a coordinator, in this case) is right up there with OU hiring Solich. I don't know much about this guy personally, but his resume is impressive to say the least.

Imagine, if he can recruit on the d side, we will not only own the MAC, but every team in it will officially be our b**ches!!!!!! :D

Overly optomistic? Probably, but I can't really help it... 8)

O...kay?

A very good read on the Toldeo Blade this morning about Coach Lovett, his connection to Studrawa, and how he arrived at BG.

"He said the Falcons will have a mixture of 4 and 3-man fronts, especially in passing situations."
