As far as I'm concerned, any one who comes through our program and moves on to the perceived "big time" garnering more press for BG is a good thing. He turned this program around and his continual climb up the ladder and our continued success brings us that much closer to where we want to be. These articles keep us on the map and in public's eye.factman wrote:Let me know when there is an article on Coach Brandon or Bowling Green and I'll read it!! I don't give a DAMN about Florida or their coach!

I'll say this....
Seeing sentences that describe how small BG's following in sellout games compared to the "mighty" Gators 58,000 attended spring game doesn't help.

Sounds familiar. Before the traveling circus leaves town and heads to its next orange and blue big top, Meyer thanks his audience, to a standing ovation, and says, "I'm very proud to be your football coach and we really need to get this thing cranked up."
Uh, coach, seems like you already have.
Someone should buy GB and UM a thesaurus.

Re: I'll say this....
I don't see your point. It also mentioned that the spring game was about 12K more in attendance than the largest game at Utah. Deal with the fact that those large schools in the south can draw more people to their programs. We are a small school with limited followings. As the team improves are stadium will fill, hopefully that will last through dry spells as well. Maybe we will only ever top out around 35k at a game. If we are winning and getting national attention I don't care.falconboy wrote:Seeing sentences that describe how small BG's following in sellout games compared to the "mighty" Gators 58,000 attended spring game doesn't help.

Urban Myer was a great coach..just 'cause he's with Florida now doesn't mean we should rag on him, look at his accomplishments as a coach:

1987 Ohio State Receivers (Grad. Asst.)
1988 Illinois State Outside Linebackers
1989 Illinois State Quarterbacks/Wide Receivers
1990 Colorado State Wide Receivers Freedom Bowl
1991 Colorado State Wide Receivers
1992 Colorado State Wide Receivers
1993 Colorado State Wide Receivers

1997 Notre Dame Wide Receivers Independence Bowl

I'd say that's a pretty impresive resume

Golfer, nobody here is dissing UM's abilities as a coach. BG fans more than most people know he's a very good coach. It's just that no school likes being treated as nothing, and Bowling Green is no exception.

Yeah, I don't think anyone is ragging on his coaching abilities. And his resume is more than known around here. That said, on a personal level he is a douche bag. I understand the advancement game but still there is something unsettling about someone who says "I'm 100% not leaving" fully knowing that he is going to. He needs to learn some tact and PR skills. That and he has only been a head coach 4yrs now. I will reserve his greatness level compared to the others for a couple more years.

I will always appreciate what he did here but I will always think of the guy as being an asshole. He rubbed me that way from the first time I saw/met him. I think he has lived up to it too. Not knocking his abilities and how how he helped us, but I have never liked him as a person. There is an arrogance about him that I just can't stand.PGY Tiercel wrote:Yeah, I don't think anyone is ragging on his coaching abilities. And his resume is more than known around here.
