Now to hold on and see if Derek Schorejs makes the Browns final cuts. They released a backup punter earlier in the week, I don't know if that's a good or bad sign...

There's also some discussion about the Ravens not holding on to Josh.... Let's hope he makes it!

That is NOT cool. Why would the browns keep Schorejs with Dawson there? He HAS had a good camp, but Dawson is an established vet.

It would be a long shot, but there are days when Dawson couldn't reach the endzone with a kickoff if he teed it up at midfield. I love Phil as the PK, but if the frustration has built to a head for Bootch to find someone that can consistantly kick touchbacks, and Derek proves that he can do that, they might keep him around.

And I thought I saw the Ravens final cuts yesterday and Josh made it through, not sure if they had more to let go, though. :?

I guess the Ravens still have 9 more to release...

from baltimoreravens.com:

"The Ravens still have to cut nine players by the end of this weekend; the team plans to announce its opening day roster on Monday."

now if you'll excuse me, I have to go scrub my eyes with bleach for viewing that site.

Well according to their official website the Ravens have until tonight to cut nine players. They plan on announcing their opening day roster Monday morning. Eight players were waived yesterday and Harris was not one of them. Hopefully he can hang on. Personally, I think he'll make the team.

The Browns are announcing their final cuts at 7pm EDT, according to their website.

(And Tricky, the next time you can save me from viewing a certain lavender-colored website from Baltimore, please let me know! )

like I said, it was a long shot, but hopefully a strong showing late in some preseason games could make his future bright for other teams as a pickup during the season.

(Oh yeah, and the Packers released Tim Couch. Of course, this is only funny until he gets signed by the Ravens and leads them to a Super Bowl. Then it becomes absolutely not funny.)
