2005 Single Game Tickets

Chairback $20 (Toledo $30)
Reserve $16 (Toledo $26)
Group (20-99) $ 9 (Toledo $14)
Group(100+) $ 7 (Toledo $12)

Are these prices much higher than last year?

I think they might be a couple bucks higher. I only made it to one game last year, and got my tickets for free, but I think I was ready to spend $14 for GA.

Price of success, I suppose, but still a damn fine deal!

All I have to say is that $26 for a reserved ticket for the Toledo is price gouging and the University should be ashamed of itself!

A money grab...plain and simple.

And that is a bad thing??? We want this team and university to keep getting better, right? That being said the price is higher from a simply supply and demand standpoint. They know that game is going to be a sellout, or at least close to it, so why shouldn't they try to make more money for the program and school?

If it makes you feel any better though, didn't Toledo charge $29 for the game last year??

Damn.

One thing I've always liked about BG football was what a great deal it was.

I think RedWing can vouch for the fact that not everyone thought it was a great deal, even last season. I can remember having an argument at a family get together that thought it was a total ripoff to pay the prices for BG football last season.

I think to the die hards we're seeing it as a great deal for a Division 1 Football game. For MANY of the other potential customers they're seeing it as overly expensive for just "BG" football. Especially when they're oftentimes bigger fans of OSU & UM and can watch those games on TV for free.

In these past 3-4 seasons my father has become a very large Falcon fan. He's enjoyed coming out to the games and tailgating. He's also cheap, and there will reach a point where he'll come tailgate and not go to the game if they keep raising these prices. I'd bet almost anything that he'll be skipping the UT game at that price.

I'll be there for all the games, because I'm a die hard, but at some point you should leave the prices alone if you want to keep increasing attendance.

Oh yeah. I seem to recall quite a lot of complaining last year when UT jacked up the BG tickets too. It is price gouging, and it sucks.

I'm proud the university thinks it can get away with charging that much. It shows how far we've come. I'll happily pay.

And, look, it *is* Toledo. That's always a huge game.

One way around it, by the way: Look into getting the flex plan, which offers a discount, especially on the Toledo price.

The only trick is redeeming the coupons early. In 2003, the Toledo game sold out quite early. Those who didn't redeem the coupons were SOL.

I think the Flex Plan redemtion issue was also a problem for the Northern Illinois game as well. When Gameday announced they were coming to Bowling Green, tickets went FAST!

I totally agree. UT has been charging us big time over the last few years there. 'Bout time we do the same. $26 to see a great rivalry game on EPSN isn't that bad.

I see it this way...

I buy 4 season tickets every year. My boys get in free with their Falcon Kid's Club cards but I still buy 4 anyway. These seats are on the 50 yard line about halfway up the stands. At BGSU, we have a Top 25, bowl winning, title contending program. Each season ticket I buy is $80 this year. Is $16 per game ticket really that bad? We are on a budget like most folks. Sure the tickets are gonna run me $320...and that doesn't include the road game tix to Ball State, Buffalo and Kent State.

Look at the Big 10 prices...insane. OSU and Michigan are charging $60 for ONE ticket to ONE game. Are they that much better than BG? I don't think so. And where will that $60 ticket be? Not on the 50 I can tell ya that. Purdue charged $36 a ticket in 2003. Wisky is charging $39 a ticket this year.

Since we get stiffed on bowl money as a conference and team, we need the $$$ to come in somewhere.

And don't get me started on the prices to watch the overrated NFL.

I know the ticket prices may suck for some people but, like SF, I will HAPPILY pay the current price to see this great team. Investing in the program....

GO FALCONS!!!! Less than 106 days til we kick some Badger Azz!!!

Here's what Syracuse is charging this year:

*************************
2005 Home Game Prices
Adult: $32
Discount End Zone:** $25
*************************

At least at BG we get to see some football.

When it costs $8.00 to go to a movie, there's nothing to complain about on BG tickets.

That is a good way to look at it , as 'investing' in the team, the university, the future of the program.

Something they should think about is to set a fixed rate for repeat season ticket holders. Maybe something like $70 a ST for a non-Toledo season and keep it at that rate for people who renew.

Try and build some continuity, while at the same time offering a reason to renew season tickets.

Are those of you complaining about our ticket prices actually serious? I'm calming myself down by thinking that you are.

One would think that a team with our talent and potential should be able to charge whatever the heck they want to without supposed "die-hards" complaining. But, that is the fanbase we have, apparently, and I for one find it sad. If we all value BG Football as much as we claim to, a $1 or $2 increase in ticket prices shouldn't matter at all. Being a fan means helping out your team in any way you can. Those extra dollars go to help improve not only our football team, but our facilities, coaches salaries, student athlete academic support services and helping to fund all of our non-revenue sports. You all need to think about that before you start complaining. This isn't a professional sports franchise where the money is going to overpaid athletes multi-millionaire owners. Every dollar in revenue goes towards enhancing the educational experience at BG not just for student athletes but for BG's entire student body.

And RWT, its not price gouging. Its capitalism, plain and simple. We only get the Toledo game at home once every two years and it is, at this point, our only *guaranteed* sellout (sadly). How can you fault them for trying to make money on ONE game every two years? Its not immoral, its smart.

Not to mention yanking some more $$$ out of the pockets of a few thousand spRockets fans, just like they do to us.

I was going to say that the price for Toledo game last year seemed high compared to what we paid for home games....but if BG is raising the price to capitalize on a very good program the price list really doesn't seem exorbitant.

What doesn't seem necessary is trying to pump the season ticket sales with the "and we'll personally install a cushioned seatback to your reserved seat "....I mean what the heck is that, who is ever going to sit down this year to need it?
