In his Blog, Coach Brandon emphasized both the quality and the importance of the Sebo Center.

Another interesting comment, however was this:

"you can expect facilities to become a major point of emphasis for all of our programs over the next few years."

Sounds like other facilities improvements are on deck. Good!!

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, we also have plans for a new 10,000 sq foot building for a baseball, softball, tennis lockerroom to be located between the baseball and softball fields. Eventually they plan to move the tennis courts just to the north of the new building. All oif this will be on, what is now the golf practice area.
I will try and get the plans and picture scanned and get them up on this site. It was designed by the same firm doing the Sebo Center. :D

Agreed. I loved that practice area my senior year. Helped the short game tremendously, and was a great way to relax a little!

They are putting in a green in out at the driving range, I presume, so those can all be in one place.

The green is in at the range, and the area is mowed down over there. I don't think they've drilled holes in the green yet but I haven't been out to the range in a week or two so maybe it is all finished by now.

Good stuff. I like how Coach recognized Don Nehlen and wants to bring him back this year for a ceremony. That would be great for all involved. I always liked Coach Nehlen...and he is a winner.

Yeeeeesssssss!!!!

But can we take our own shag bags over there and chip onto the green for free, like at the practice greens?

Can we hit 30 yard pitches when the backdrop is Poe Road?

Obviously you're not going to be able to hit the 150-170 yard approach shots that the practice area now offers. One of the great things about the practice greens as they are now is you can practice your W-7 irons in the room they have, then you can chip & putt your ball into the hole. So basically you can practice everything there except your long irons & driving; all with your own balls for free.

If they take that one free avenue of practice away from us, I can already see my golf game getting even worse than it is now :(
