Liverpool FC rocks in Istanbul!

Liverpool come back from 3-0 down at half time to knock off Inter Milan on a penalty shoot out in Istanbul's Attaturk stadium and become only the third team in European Championship history to win the tournament 5 times. The difference between the two? The twelfth man - a stadium full of 75,000 scousers singing their immortal anthem...

Walk on
Walk on
With hope
In your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk...
..Alone

Tears... to... one's eyes. Kinda like Bowling Green at Purdue.

Congrats Zom! Sounds like a raucous time, to be sure. Some day I'm going to get over to England.

Not Bowling Green football, but it's football, none the less.

Agree, soccer (or any 'football' outside of the United States) is a waste of my time.

I had a great time in Istanbul a couple years ago.

Money goes a long, long way there, too.

I meant to see a soccer match when I was there, but never got around to it.

Besiktas had a fine looking stadium.

Liverpool's Czech goalkeeper made some great saves in the extra time and his antics on the line during the pens was great. Glad to see it wasn't Chelsea who won.

I'll be at the US-England friendly this weekend at Flying Saucer errr Soldier Field in Chicago.

Dayon, take a Bowling Green banner to the game with you, and I'll see if I can spot you in the crowd from my perch in North Wales!

England will be checking out some interesting talent with a view towards wrapping up seats at the table for World Cup 2006.

Friendly or not, losing to USA will have Britain's partisan sports media looking for coach Eriksson's head on a stake for the rest of the summer.

Enduring that, while wondering when College Football News is ever going to publish their take on BGSU is more than I want to bear.

That said, Eriksson, unlike his Colombian counterpart, is fairly sure he can return to Europe without risk of literal summary execution by lethal bullet!

It seems like every year we are towards the end. Or possibly it just seems that way. I always look forward to their offseason piece too.

I can't wait to sift through all of the mistakes they make looking for actual intelligence

"preseason heisman quarter back Omar harris will look to have a strong start to the year playing at Iowa. But with standout receiver Cole Magner coming back alongside charles sanders, he'll have plenty of weapons at his disposal."

Yep you will have that. Pretty much a given with CFN
