That picture is unbelievably good... is it from the SE Missouri St. game? the stadium looks pretty full... looks awesome

I think its from the toledo game (2yrs ago?). Looks like visitors are wearing white on blue. That game has been played at night the last couple of times, (I thought I saw pictures of SE Missouri during the day) and the full stadiuim is pretty typical of that game.
Am I wrong?

Freak and I went back and forth on this quite a while in the MAC forum.

It pretty much has to be NIU, '03. The 2003 Toledo game was a day time game -- and in 2001, the south bleachers had not been removed.

I don't think we've had that big a crowd for any other game -- particularly on the west side -- since those lights went in.

Forget the lights going in, the south bleachers missing (as you mentioned) gives it away. Theoretically, it could have been the EKU game from '03, but A) I think it was a decent crowd, but not nearly that full, and B) the Lyon Video production truck by the press box elevator gives it away. The NIU game is the only night game that would have needed anything like that since the bleachers came down and the tents went up.

its does look pretty full, but i certainly see a decent amount of openings and i that makes me think its not NIU b/c we had over 31,000 and our stadium lists at 28,500 so i doubt you would see many empty seats, and i certainly see quite a few, i still think it could be the SEMO game b/c the stands are gone and i see the jumbo-tron and the "other" team is wearing white on white, and that game didnt get over until 9:27pm and the attendance was somethin like 23,500 meaning the stadium would be 85% full, id say it looks 85% full

I think BGSUFootballFan is correct on this assesment. The picture we're viewing was posted on October 15, 2004. So if the picture is from the 2004 season, it can only be the SEMO game on 9/11/2004. The BSU game was after this date on on 10/16/04. This makes sense to me, unless the athletic department decided to store the 2003 NIU game for over a year before posting it, which I guess is possible. I don't see the big satellite truck that I thought was present for the 2003 NIU game, plus that looks like the new scoreboard to me, so it has to be the 2004 season. Also, I zoomed in on the picture and I'm definitely sitting on the West side of the stadium in that picture. I was sitting on the east side at the NIU game

I'm 99.9% sure that is the 2003 NIU game. If you look on the East side on the suite level, you'll see all the pieces of paper that SicSic used to spell out "Unfinished Business Tour 2003"....all those little white boxes are sheets of paper.

The scoreboard is definitely the old one.

It is certainly the 2003 NIU game. ESPN had a camera platform at the south endzone and the rolling sideline camera on the west side (both visible in the photograph).

The SICSIC signs below the boxes on the east side spelled out Harris4Heisman.com, as the site was up by that game. Each sign had one letter, with spaces on either side of the "4." This is also visible in the photograph. The signs were not there before that game, and had begun to fall down during subsequent games later in the season.

The tent city was the biggest one up until that point, and you can see that they extend beyone the top edge of the photograph. It's obviously a big game - SEMO would not have had that many tents.

The visiting team is wearing white on black. The players on the field are doing so as are the players on the visitors sidelines (who are located north of the tarp between the 20-yard line and the end zone). This is consistent with NIU's jerseys that day, which were white with black pants.

This photo is on the "Won the West" poster featuring J5, Patton, and the linemen that was distributed early the next semester. All of the features are even more visible on the poster.

I can't figure out why there are still questions as to what game the photo was taken. Arial shots of the Doyt (as we know) are few and far between, and the University knew when it commissioned this photo that the NIU game would be as close to a perfect gameday (no pun intended) image as they would get in a long time.
