Speedy WR showing High Interest in BGSU

Post by Redwingtom »

We have already offered this kid who has reportedly run a sub 4.4 40!!! Looks like it may be between Pittsburgh and us right now.

Another article confirming that we are a front-runner, but Coach Hoeppner has already 'lied' to him

Good find, Tom.

This kid is in my area....Alliance Marlington HS.

Looks like Miami is on him as well.

Sounds like an outstanding player but doesn't seem like he really wants to come to BG. I know he wants to weigh his options but looks like he is waiting for something "better" to come. Just my opinion. Hopefully he comes to BG.

Especially when his "dream school" is OSU. Kinda surprised he even mentioned us as a fronrunner with Pitt. I'll say this, I'd be shocked if he even comes to campus to look around. It'd be awesome to land this kid , but I'm not sure we have a chance and landing him. :|

On the contrary I think we've got a great chance if Pitt is the other option. Pass happy Walt Harris left for Stanford and was replaced by Dave Wannstedt, who from all indications wants to implement more of a grind it out attack on offense. To this end, he hired former Ravens OC Matt Cavanaugh who was also his OC with the Chicago Bears.

The Ravens and Bears aren't exactly dream offenses for a WR to play in and thrive. BG's offense clearly is.

Also, I seem to remeber Pennsylvania WR Greg Hutcherson chose the Falcons over the Panthers a couple years ago and is beginning to crack the depth chart.

Greg Hutcherson....

Well if its true about Hutcherson not being as as stud as first thought, then maybaye thats why Pitt didnt' give him a schollie. If Pitt gave Hutch a schollie and he still came here , then I'm surprised.
