Maybe this has already been discussed and I missed it but how is Navarro's recovery coming along? Will he be able to return to BG this fall for classes or be able to play football again in the future?

I thought Steve was supposed to return to classes this past spring. Not sure if he did or not. As for his playing career, I also recall it being highly unlikely that he would be playing football again to any real extent, something about him still getting dizzy off and on. He was a student coach the last I heard. There were a couple of old threads on AZZ and on bgsufalcons.com, but I haven't seen any recent information. Perhaps someone close to the program has some information on Steve's progress.

If I remember Coach Brandon talking the night of the famous "You Intenet gurus out there" speech, Navarro is back in class and will be a student assistant coach this year. His playing career is over.

Adding to transfer's very accurate statement, Coach Brandon opened his talk at the postgolf outing dinner last Monday with a reminder about what happened one year ago. He received a call at the dinner that Steve had apparently suffered a stroke. He rushed out of course and the young man's recovery has been well chronicled.
Coach said at this year's dinner that Steve was indeed doing well, would continue to serve as an undergraduate assistant coach this season and had, in fact, had a very successful first semester back as far as the classroom goes. He apparently posted a very fine GPA.
So what a great ending. Even though he cannot play, Steve is contributing and I am sure he and his parents are very thankful for all the thoughts and prayers over the last year.
Go Falcons!
