Boise Falcons

Post by Alanweezie »

Do not know if anyone has made the connection but we have the Birds of Prey World Center here in SW Idaho. The late Morely Nelson established it. He was the world renowned birds of prey expert. He died last year.
Last weekend I had ospreys and golden eagles circling above my cabin north of Boise. I see red tailed hawks and sparrow hawks on a regular basis at my house near Meridian.
Falcons coming to Boise in September? Perfect.

I saw a hummingbird live today. That was pretty freaking cool.

On my way home the other night, I saw a red tailed hawk perched on some high tension wires.
The bird was facing west. I was heading east. The bird was perched smack-dab in the center of the grassy median.
Freaking cool.

To clarify, our falcon is the Peregrine Falcon.

Yeah, but they don't have big goofy silver beaks...

It is not my intention to do away with government. It is rather to make it work - work with us, not over us; stand by our side, not ride on our back. Government can and must provide opportunity, not smother it; foster productivity, not stifle it. ~Ronald Reagan
