ESPN Gameday! (Not BGSU related)

Heard this morning that ESPN will be moving College GameDay this weekend to the USC-Georgia game (not sure who is home team).
Only reason I mention this is because they were originally scheduled to be at the Michigan-Notre Dame game. Now when ESPN takes GameDay away from a big boy like ND, you know the program is really going down the tubes.

Urban Meyer will be the next head coach at Notre Dame. I'm not saying when it will happen, but I feel it will happen. I hope his wife didn't get too attached to the mountains out there in Utah, because South Bend is as flat as a pancake.

I saw this in the Chicago Tribune...
No GameDay fun for Irish
By Teddy Greenstein
Tribune college football reporter
September 7, 2004
In a sign of how far and fast Notre Dame has fallen, ESPN has decided not to send its College GameDay crew to South Bend for Saturday's Michigan-Notre Dame game.
The GameDay contingent of Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso was set to go to South Bend until the Irish lost their season-opener at Brigham Young. Instead, ESPN is headed to Columbia, S.C., where the Lou Holtz-led South Carolina Gamecocks will host Georgia.
Notre Dame spokesman John Heisler said he didn't take ESPN's decision as a slap in the face. "There's no shortage of media here," he said. "An ESPN crew is here right now and a crew from TBS is coming."

I believe ND is one of the schools (OSU and Michigan the others) in his contract that gets him an easy out at Utah.

I was under that same impression. I fully expect Meyer to be in South Bend very soon.

Not that Notre Dame needs it, but I think of the millions of dollars of free publicity for the university that is lost by GameDay going elsewhere.
