Well the good news is that the fans don't pick who plays where.

Harris has passed Johnson, probably in part to folks from here voting. Frye is still far ahead.

And I used to think Cleveland fans were smarter than to voteo for Doug Johnson. Guess I was wrong again.

Not any longer...Josh may as well hang 'em up now and get on with this life or head to Europe or the CFL...the Browns will stink anyway.

Don't underestimate Doug Johnson, he is a capable backup and if he has a good camp it could spell doom for Harris' active roster chances, Johnson could bump him to the practice squad or free agency. Frye is a lock to be on the active roster. Personally, I think the three best QB's on the team do not include Trent Dilfer. He is a hell of a professional, but does anyone really think he is still of starting quality?

Johnson Capable? No more capable than anyone the Browns had on their squad. He has a 69 Career QB rating!
They might as well sign Jamie Martin when the Rams release him too.

I didn't see this anywhere so here are two interesting excerpts from scout.com on the Josh Harris and the amount of MAC players on the Browns' roster. The Josh commentary is much in-line with what most people have been saying here.

The signing of veteran QB Doug Johnson is not an indictment against Charlie Frye as it is against Josh Harris. Frye, who was great in games at Akron U., never was an impressive practice player, wasn’t really expected to step in to the backup QB position right from the beginning. Harris, who was on the Baltimore Raven roster last year, might have been, but it looks like his fate is sealed with the signing of Johnson. That, of course, could change during training camp, as there is no guarantee that Johnson will be the right fit, but he probably will be.

Isn’t it interesting, that as of today, there are ten Mid American Conference players on the Browns roster, and only one, Kenard Lang (not including Kellen Winslow, Jr.) from Miami (Fl). There aren’t many from Florida or Florida State, either, although newly acquired QB Doug Johnson played at Florida.

I haven't seen a well-written piece like that in years.

If this is the kind of BS that scout.com publishes I have no idea why anyone would pay to read it.

Essentially what they said in this article was: "Well, this is exactly what is going to happen. But at the same time, this is also just as likely. But not really."

So Frye gets a pass, well because he never has been one to do well in practice? While it might be 100% accurate, it also 100% convenient. Nice that he can get by on what he did in college while other players have to prove themselves in practice to make the roster.

This is not me knocking Frye, just the situation.

I think, in the end, that what happens in the preseason games will trump what happens in practice for all players.
