Our OFFICIAL colors?

Post by Schadenfreude »

Has BGSU ever set a standard on this?

I'm thinking in terms of Pantones, RGB codes, etc.

In fact, I used the RGB equivalent to those PMS colors when designing this site (I made the brown a tad darker to provide more contrast)

If you went into a paint store and asked for Pantone 4625 would they be able to make it? Just curious since we just painted our boys' room orange and brown. It looks cool, but not sure we used the "official colors".

One of the walls is brown with a horizontal orange stripe around the middle. Sure would be cool to get one of the orange falcon heads painted real big on the brown wall. And idea how I can get a template?

Go over to the art department and pay an art major $50 to do it freehand. You'll get a nice job done and you can make it any size you want.

When I lived with my parents I had orange walls & brown carpet. Had Cleveland Browns curtains & blankets, with various Falcon items as well. The color scheme works well for a bedroom, IMO.

Nice find, BGSU Falconz.

I guess we can see why so much merch comes in orange and black.

It's an official color.

If you can borrow an overhead projector you can print out an official logo on transperancy paper and project it on the wall and you will have exact guidlines to use.

My dad used to always tell me it was "Burnt Orange and Seal Brown."

I assume that translates to the Pantone colors listed there.

Don't have the brown carpet, but they do have orange curtains. :supz:

I always thought it was Burnt Orange and Seal Brown as well. But after some recent discussions, I have heard that the University of Texas uses what they call Burnt Orange. BG's orange and Texas's orange are obviously not the same color.

my girlfriend worked at sherwin-williams while we were in school. she said that the orange that the university uses to paint official things is called Obstinate Orange, which is number 6884 on the SW color deck. i'll have to check with her and see if she knows the brown color.

The colors shown in the two links seem different.

they do. i was just looking at them side by side and the paint color seems to be darker than the print color.
