Some stores release the game earlier than others. This happend last year with this game title. If you got it at best buy it usually is that Tuesday but other stores will release it on Monday, Wednesday, or even Thursday.

usually places like walmart and target sell new releases on tuesday which is the 12th. I remember last year when Madden 2005 came out. It was scheduled to come out on a thursday but some places were selling it on a monday.

Well if you live near Target, u can get it on Tuesday

Which brings me to my next question...what's the closest Target to Bowling GReen? Is their one in BG? I'll be up their for orientation that day, I guess I could just get my parents to take down notes and tell me all the important stuff anyways, right? 8)

Off the top of my head, and from 3 hours away, I believe the closest one is in Rossford/Perrysburg, about 15 minutes straight up I-75 (on US 20 maybe a mile west of the interstate if you dig out a map).

I believe the GameStop in Spring Meadows off Airport Highway will have copies Monday night if you prepay. They have done it in the past. I'll give a call Tuesday to double check. The only downside is waiting for the kid to show up with the game. The people I waited with last year were all UT, OSU, or UM fans wearing their colors proudly and arguing with each other. Made me just wanna wait till Tuesday this year.

I've done this the last two years:

I have ordered it directly from EA who offers a $15 coupon on your birthday. So I use the coupon for FREE next day shipping and I pay $50 for the game and it comes the day before the game is released to shops. No need to drive around looking for it they bring it right to my waiting console.

Works great.

I don't know much about gaming, but aren't Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony introducing new systems early next year? Will they be backwards compatible?

Definitely Tuesday. They usually publish that Wednesday is the release because they want to allow for shipping delays, etc. They have ALWAYS had it on Tuesday in the past.

As others have said if you go to gamestop or EB games type stores they may sell it on Monday. Most stores usually get the shipments in on Mondays. Those stores will oftentimes put them on the shelves when they get them, whereas Best Buy will always wait until Tuesday.

I know the gamestop in Lynchburg (not that anyone here will ever be in Lynchburg) said they are gonna be open at midnight on Monday to sell them; but the FYE here is selling them on the 10th...I went by Target, and even though it says it comes out on the 6th on their site, the guy said they won't sell them until the 12th (even though they already have them in stock)

Yes, they are coming out with new systems next year. Nintendo and Sony's systems will be bacwards compatible, but Microsoft will not have a backwards compatible system. So you can play GameCube games on the Revolution for Nintendo and PS2 games on the PS3, but no X-Box games on the X-box 2.
