SPECIAL REQUEST

Post by Class of 61 »

With Grant's permission, I am asking for Azzer's support of me as I participate in the Cleveland Heartwalk on August 28. The walk, either a 1 or a 3 mile, (I plan to do the 3 mile), is to benefit the AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION.

Some of you who know me well know that I had a heart attack over 5 years ago, was lucky enough to "get away" with "only" an angioplasty and stent put in, as opposed to more major by-pass surgery. Since then, I've been a volunteer at the hospital where I still do rehab 3 times a week, calling on recent heart patients, and extolling the benefits of cardiac rehab. Now, I've decided to "step it up" a bit and do this walk for the Heart Association, which does great things in the area of research and developement in heart disease and stroke. Think CPR,pacemakers, bypass surgery etc. to name a few.

Most of you probably know someone, either a family member or friend, who's had some type of heart related illness. Heart disease is still the biggest killer of Americans of all diseases today(93,000 lives a year are lost). I'd appreciate your support as I attempt to raise at least $500 myself. You can send a donation to the American Heart Association by logging onto www.hearwalk.kintera.org. You may have to search for the Cleveland march a bit, but you'll find it. Some of you may have already received an email from me re: this, but this is the only way I know to get in touch with as many Azzer's as possible.

For some reason, they prefer that donations made via the net be for at least $25, but if you can't swing that, I fully understand...ANY amount will be gratefully accepted...Simply make out a check to the American Heart Association and send it to :

Dennis Blue
7671 Chaffee Rd.
Sagamore Hills, O. 44067

I'll take care of sending all donations on...if you DO decide to go online with your donations, you can "credit" my website- Class of 61- Team= Marcia's Minions....not sure exactly how that will work, but either way, I appreciate your help and cooperation on this project. Gotta get walking..see some of you in Madison, rest in BG at Homecoming/1st home game.

Thanks,

Dennis

Several of you have already responded to my request for help. Since I don't know everyone's name ( real) vs. screen name, I can only say THANK YOU! My goal hasn't been reached, but it seems like it's still a possibility to reach before the walk on Aug. 28.

And special thanks again to Grant, for allowing me to utilize this forum to request the help.

No, I mean his his. ;-) In some cultures, that phrase means "Exceeded all expectations while exemplifying superior humanitarian efforts..."

His his... indeed!
