People on the MAC boards have been enjoying some NCAA maps so I came up with one for the M.A.C.-

I mocked this up fairly quickly so please let me know if I have done something stupid or spelled something wrong.

Also, I used my geography skills to place the cities so if you notice a dot that is off, please let me know.

Suggestions for improvement, comments and criticisms welcome.

Cool. I think a couple of the city dots are off by just a little bit, but then again, that's going from my memory, too. Regardless, a fine effort once again!

Yeah...I still don't get this being the Mid American Conference...

Ohio is not in Mid America and not in the midwest. To me Indiana to Nebraska is the line for the Midwest. Mid east maybe, but not midwest.

For some reason people often claim that Ohio is in the midwest. It irritates me. I ask, "midwest of what?" I agree, mideast is more accurate, or maybe Great Lakes region.

I never really thought about it, but the saying has been around longer than anyone that posts on this board. Not that is totally matters. But Ohio is, and it's gonna be that way for a while.

I would submit Middle America is a state of mind as much as a place.

Anyway, Bowling Green was home to Mid-Am bank for a whole long time.

Mid-west is actually a term coined over two hundred years ago and was very applicable then. When the border of our country was the Mississippi, this was in fact the mid-west. As we spread westward, the term of mid-west went with it, but for some it was retained in the previously applicable states.

Thanks, I knew that. These sound awful - North Central States and the West North Central States - so I'll stick with advocating either Mideast (although that does refer to a particular part of the globe already) or Great Lakes (why should Ohio be grouped with the likes of the Dakota's and Kansas anyway?).

Its true that you could see the Midwest being 80% of the surface area of the country. Nonetheless, Ohio is in middle america.
