Idiot on the ESPN boards!

Definitely read hardwoodballer's posts. This guy doesn't have a clue. To prove it, read his first post of the thread below. Warning though, name calling gets kind of bad on the 3rd page...

please BGSU wont even win their conference this year Omar is good but thats it. Their running game will be completely out of the question in this game because that is Boise's specialty. their defense stinks not even average they are horrible. and one of the most important things to this game is it is the season opener for Boise. it is unrealistic to think Boise will score under 50. the last great QB to come to town was Timmy Chang and he is twice the passer Omar is, he only needed 250 or so yards to break the career yards record instead he broke the career int's record 69-3 final score. Boise will be fired up and look to see much of the same in this game as the Hawaii game.
Boise will literally destroy Bowling Green.
look to be in the 55-17 range for Boise

I suppose that could be the final score, but I'd be shocked if it were.

Omar is WAY better than what this guy thinks, he's infinitely better than Tommy Chang.

I must agree with him that it is unrealistic to believe Boise will score under 50, because he's right, our defense stunk last year. Unless they show drastic improvement (while losing their best playmakers and a lot of DL), we'll give up to 50 to any good offense.

I still think we've got it in us to score 60 though ;)

Boise's season opener? Yeah, this guy's an expert all right.

While I was surprised by the final of that Hawaii game to an extent myself, putting Omar in the same category as Timmy Chang's "throw it against the wall and hope something sticks" offense is laughable.

Heck, he didn't even put him in the same catagory....he said he was twice as good. LOL I don't even think they make QBs like that in the NFL to be honest!

I suppose Oklahoma was just a cupcake of a defense to these guys that are saying Boise State is going to shutdown BG?

EDIT: That thread is one of the reasons I gave up on ESPN's forums.

The post looks like it was written by a 15 year old - mentally and/or physically. I wouldn't apply too much credibility to the lad/lass/undecided.

One of my pet-peeves is the misuse of the term "literally". The Broncs may beat us, but I hope they leave all of our player's appendages attached.

ANd he may have been off in that BSU plays Georgia and Oregon State on the road, but we are BSU's home opener and they do well on that turf.

This guy is a jerk. I saw him around on a few boards last year. I have heard that he is a young kid. Please don't think that this is a representation of Boise fans. Everyone I've talked to respects the BGSU team and talent of Omar Jacobs and crew. Unfortunately every team's fans have a few bad apples. How embarassing

Good luck on your season.

We know, but thanks for the kind words. It's interesting how BG and BSU fans are more worried about the teams playing eachother than playing Wisky and GA respectively.

Luck to you and your team this season.

I got sick of reading that crap so I vented...this is what I posted on that thread.

ok Boise fans I have read about enough of this BS. Not only do I have to listen to you talk up your team in the main board but now I have to listen to this garbage. Enough is ENOUGH.

You ****ing went to OT against San Jose State, you had to rally from behind against Tulsa, and BYU had to miss a last second FG to lose to you by 1 IN BOISE. So don't you DARE even try to talk up your team! You play in the 2nd weakest conference in 1-A CFG and you are a product of that. You can't beat BCS conference teams (2-13) and you struggle against your own bottom WAC teams.....so STFU already. BG scheduled well gosh lets see Oklahoma, the 2nd best team in the nation last year, and only lost by 16 to them! Also, NIU and Toledo are 8 and 9 win teams every year so those road losses are acceptable, just as a road loss to Fresno would be for you.

I am going to setttle something else for you Boise homers....your run defense is ONLY ranked where it was last year because you play WAC teams and crappy OOC teams who are so far behind that they do NOTHING but pass the ball after the 1st quarter....you can look at the damn stat sheets and see this! How dare you talk up your defense like that knowing full well the real reason. God damn do I hate double standard, ignorant, seemingly GED educated people.

You can be a fan of your team all you want but if you demand the respect that you want for your team you better fu*king give it back too!! You won't get respect for Boise if you don't acknowledge your record vs BCS conference teams (crappy ones too mind you), the true reason for your rush defense ranking, and your very weak WAC conference....I am a huge Bowling Green fan but you would NEVER EVER hear me saying 1/4 of the crap that a lot of you unrealistic, homer Boise fans do....its appauling and downright embarrassing for your team, your school and your realistic fans....

I give Boise all the respect in the world even though I said those things that I did about them....and I absolutely feel that they have the advantage in this game because it is at home. But you will not hold a top 5 offense with arguably the best QB in the country to under your average points given up last year. I have said this ALL along....the game will not be a blowout on either side and I see Boise winning 42-38. See....a REALISTIC fan....thats spelled R-E-A-L-I-S-T-I-C......learn it and utilize it because most of you are not realistic fans.....

Fortunately or unfortunately, because of Boise’s success over the last several years, they have attracted a lot of new “fair-weather” fans like the poster Mr. hardlywood-noballs. Hopefully in time they will learn better manners and show better etiquette.

These are the same people you will hear yelling and screaming at the top of their lungs during the BGSU/BSU game………

While BSU is on offence. LOL

As to the rest of your post:

I was as shocked as anyone that BSU managed to go 11-0 during the regular season (I predicted 8-4). It was supposed to be a rebuilding year, but several close ones went our way.

In the past the WAC games have not been that close. A couple of years ago the average margin of victory was over 35 points against the WAC.

You may have already heard this but BSU was the 2nd youngest team in D1 last year. They return almost the entire team from last year and will do so again next year.

Also don't be fooled by the all-time record vs BCS schools. Most of those were racked up as a D1AA school or just out of it. Many were to WSU who was in the top of the PAC10 at that time or on the road against the SEC.

I give Boise all the respect in the world even though I said those things that I did about them....and I absolutely feel that they have the advantage in this game because it is at home. But you will not hold a top 5 offense with arguably the best QB in the country to under your average points given up last year. Just Curious...

What would you consider to be R-E-A-L-I-S-T-I-C for a team that has gone 12-1, 13-1, and 11-1 in the last 3 years and should have their best team ever the next 2 years?

BSU hasn't lost at home since Sept 2001 at home, and lost their only losses in 03 and 04 by a total of 6 points (on the road).
They have blown out most of the teams they have played in the last few years.

It really isn't all that un-R-E-A-L-I-S-T-I-C either. :)

Good luck this year.

Most Knowledgeable Boise Fans...

Post by BTBronco »

would not share mr hardwoodballer's sentiments. Those of us who use the main Boise forum (http://mb26.scout.com/fboisestatefrm7) believe that BGSU and Jacobs will give us all we can handle. We are concerned about this game but are also excited that a team of BGSU's caliber is coming to Boise.
