Urban Meyer on Jim Rome radio show, 9-9-04
UM is scheduled to appear on the Jim Rome show on Thursday. I'm interested to hear about how much he loves Utah and isn't leaving.
The Jim Rome radio show airs from 12pm-3pm in most EST markets. Check your local listings. In Cleveland, he appears on 850 WKNR.
That is all.

It depends on how secure he figures Notre Dame is with its current coach.
I think he'd take the ND job if it opens up. But he doesn't want a firestorm starting this early in the year.
Personally I'd love to seem him get the job at ND, I think its a matter of time before it opens up again, maybe even this year. I can't recall if they gave Ty a three or five year contract.

Like most everyone else, I realize that he was going to leave, it was just a matter of when.
I also realize he's an excellent coach and recruiter (As evidenced by that list posted a while back in which he was in on everyone on the damn west coast).
But please, Urban, stop making comments like this (Paraphrased from Rome today):
"I love it here, it's a safe environment, and there's a lot of unfinished business here."
Ugh.
No one would blame you for leaving Utah after this year -- you will have earned it. But learn your lesson: Don't say stuff like that!

An ego well earned, IMO. A little hubris is not always a bad thing, but it could eventually be if he ever falls on hard times. Right now all he's known is succeess, and I mean immediate success. Somewhere along the way there will be a speedbump, how well will he deal with it? My personal opinion is he'll be just fine, but I could be wrong too.1987alum wrote:TG:
Exactly. Everytime I see quotes from UM, I hear a John Reuben song go through my head: "All I hear is, blah, blah, blah, blah-blah-blah, blah blah." The song is appropriately titled "Hello Ego"
Typical republican... doesn't want to be educated on both sides of an issue... Books are to this Bush administration what broccoli was to the last.MotownFalcon wrote:Ahh...you are so right Factman...Nothing drowns out double-talk like a nice aria. That's why I always have Puccini on when Kerry's giving a speech...
But I digress...
Probably it is time to move on from the Urban Meyer thing. We're still kicking w/o him, so, no harm no foul at this point.
Even if they did beat UofM today. There are no national championships in ND's near future. The fact that they had not scored at halftime against BYU shows the turn that program has took since Lou left.orangeandbrown wrote:UM will be the next coach at ND, and will lead them to a national championship with three years of his arrival.
