Anthony Turner

As much attention and excitement as there is building up around Omar Jacobs, I am hoping we see a good bit of Anthony Turner this year – in a reserve roll.....meaning....that we really get out ahead of some teams this year and he can get some much needed playing time. It was great to be able to red-shirt him last season, and I haven't seen him throw a ball yet. I remember it was discussed from back in the spring game way back, but what was everyone's thoughts on him from those of you that went? How did he look in action? If I remember correctly, he chose BG over schools like Iowa and West Virginia. On paper, he's certainly one of the most highly touted guys out of high school to ever sign at BG.

Turner was PHENOMENAL in the spring game! It is scary how much he reminds me of Omar Jacobs, and although I can't say for sure, it seems as though he is a better deep passer than Omar is (which is saying a lot!). I am so excited about being able to see him play over the next couple of years. I hesitate to say this, mostly because it is nearly unimagineable at this point, but he could very well end up being BETTER than Omar before his time at BG is through.

Thanks for the reply, and that is great news to hear. Like I said, I hope we see a lot of him this year, but because Omar gets to have a seat after directing us to a huge lead. :)

Turner looked a bit more mobile than Omar, but not nearly as accurate with his passed. Overall, they're a great contrast to each other.

If something were to happen to Jacobs this season, the dropoff to Turner would be slight. Which is nice because that luxury definitely was not there last season. Judging by the spring game, Anthony Turner will be as good as the hype that surrounded him when he signed.

I've heard good things about Turner. Hopefully your right about the dropoff not being considerable.

By the way kdog27, we've got you on record if we need somebody to hold responsible for the jinx on this one! :D

First series at Camp Randall I want to see a shotgun, 2-back set consisting Omar Jacobs at QB flanked by Partridge and Turner.

Imagine the possibilities....(best mad scientist laugh)

I had the chance to speak with Anthony after the spring game and he is an extremely intelligent and nice young man. He should be an excellent role model on this team the next few years.

Really? I thought he looked pretty darn accurate out there, especially for a redshirt freshman. If you think back to Omar's redshirt freshman year, I believe people were saying the same thing about him in comparison to Josh.

We have had a good sting of quarterbacks that conduct themselves well off the field. Andy Sahm, Josh Harris, Omar Jacobs, and Anthony Turner all seem like the have represented or will represent the Univeristy in a good way.

sometimes late at night, deep down inside in places I don't talk about at parties....I miss Andy Sahm.

In all fairness, he started out very hot, and did get a little less accurate after that. But, we're splitting hairs here. Was he has accurate as Omar yet...no. Did he look like he could step in and lead a team to the MAC title. Oh, yeah. He looked a lot like that.
