if the big ten v mac deal goes through.

I would like to see us play

MSU
Penn State
Michigan
Iowa
Minnesota

I left OSU off the list because we already play them in 2010 is it?
Indiana isnt that attractive to me
Purdue and Northwestern we have played fairly recently
obviously we have wisky this year and next
Illinois is left off also because it doesnt seem to be attractive to me either given their lack of success recently.

i think we need to get the more upper tier/ up and comming in the conference and not the bottom dwellers to get real respect.

i f we beat illinois or northwesrn or indiana people are gonna say "wow BG beat a big ten team, but then again it was only indiana, they are nothing in football"

what ya think?

I'd like to see BGSU play any Big 10 team, anytime.

I'd like to see us play more teams from a conference that isn't more than half mediocre, like the SEC. If we can start beating SEC teams, that would be fun. Its fun beating the likes of Northwestern for so long.

Plus, other conferences aren't nearly as stuck-up as the Big11, and I think it would be much easier to get 1 for 1's and 2 for 1's with SEC teams.

This is a region of the country I don't think we have really tried to schedule very hard, and I think we should.

sitting here in lexington, I agree with Bleeding, I want to see us play some SEC teams. I enjoy watching SEC sports, and it obviously gets excellent coverage down in the south. Getting some games against SEC teams would spread BG and the MAC down into the south. UK is clearly weak, but most of the other teams would make good opponents. Heck, even vanderbilt is gaining, placing 2 players on the all SEC pre-season 1st team. (qb and something else). Plus most of the schools are reasonable close, less than a day's drive at most.

I'd say that more than half the SEC is no better than mediocre.

This point could be debated quite a bit, that said I would prefer to not do that. However, I think that if it comes down to playing some mediocre Big Ten team, compared to playing a mediocre SEC team, I would rather see us play the SEC team. I think right now BG should work on beating as many teams from as many conferences as possible. It would only help to advance the general populations opinion of BG.

Obviously, I'm with the Freak. Big Ten? Any time, any place.

But Michigan State would be a particularly cool game. I've always wanted to see a game up there, and we could take 'em.

The only previous meeting was in 1981. Michigan State won, 10-7.

This is a complete list of Bowling Green against the Big Ten. The Falcons are 4-8, which is the best record for a MAC team against that league:

1972 Bowling Green 17, Purdue 14
1981 Michigan State 10, Bowling Green 7
1986 Minnesota 31, Bowling Green 7
1992 Ohio State 17, Bowling Green 6
1992 Wisconsin 39, Bowling Green 18
1997 Ohio State 44, Bowling Green 13
1998 Penn State 48, Bowling Green 3
2000 Michigan 42, Bowling Green 7
2001 Bowling Green 43, Northwestern 42
2003 Bowling Green 27, Purdue 26
2003 Ohio State 24, Bowling Green 17
2003 Bowling Green 28, Northwestern 24

I would like to see us play SEC teams.

FYI, at this point, I see five better than mediocre SEC teams: Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, and Tennessee.

i'm a little skeptic about auburn. they got some shoes to fill. cadillac, brown and i forget the QB's name is some big time losses offensively.

i wouldn't mind playin some other PAC 10 teams i know ASU is on the future schedules but i would like to play UCLA or wash st., washington, oregon anyone but USC really. USC would slaughter us. california prolly would have last year but they are breaking in new RB and QB.

it would just suck cos there wouldnt be a chance in hell to get them to our stadium. and thats a long way to travel

I was in Huskie stadium when BG went to Washington. My first red-eye flight and one painful-to-watch game. I'm sure things would be different this century.
