You beat me to it. I was not even close on my prediction. At least there is a Duke fan out there

I realize this is preseason rankings but why are most people predicting the MACC either BG or Miami(oh) and they have NIU and TU ahead of Miami(oh).

Who cares how we are ranked in regard to Toledo?
More importantly, look where Wisconsin (30) and Boise State (19) are ranked. If we start the season 3-0, we will be in the national spotlight.
Honestly, I like the idea of lurking just outside the top 25 to start the season. We're in a great position to make a lot of noise!

Because they're the main rival, won the 2004 MAC championship, and I've read mulitple articles predicting them to win the West...obviously Omar's hype is helping us get some early votes.

I agree also. I think it takes a little of the pressure off the players. It is practically unprecedented for us to even be getting votes in a pre-season poll. So sitting just outside the top 25 takes off some pressure to meet the expectations of a ranked team, but also gives the players some incentive by being overlooked. This ranking is fine with me.

And a 1-10 Washington.

Just goes to show how stupid some of these voters are and gives more support to making the votes public. If you know poeple will see who you voted for, are you still going vote for Duke? :duh:

Steve Spurrier always gives one vote for Duke in the preseason poll because that was his first head coaching gig, so he feels some loyalty to them I guess...that vote will disappear after the first week!

Until Duke loses, Spurrier will vote for them. Virginia is not too high.

Same 'ole sh!t, different year. These clowns vote on name recognition. Wisconsin being ranked ahead of BGSU baffles me.

I like this ranking as far as team mindset goes. I like the underdog role for our guys as it seems like every time we get serious national recognition, we fall on our face.
The thing that bothers me is a BCS bowl is now pretty much out of the question even if we run the table. Utah started the year 18th last year and barely made it in. I don't think it's possible for a "mid-major" (gag) school to make it into the BCS from 32nd. Oh well, we can still run the table and give all the BCS schools ulcers in the process.

Oh heck no. I think we'd have a shot.
It seems pretty clear to me that a win over Wisconsin puts Bowling Green in the Top 25.
Boise State is already ranked; a 3-0 start for us could put us in the Top 15.
Then we'd have the rest of the season to try to keep moving up.
