Someone needs to tell these guys that we have won 3 of our last four against the Big Ten with that one lost coming in the final minute at the shoe. I cannot wait for this game. They have no idea that there are stars besides Omar Jacobs on this team.

I don't see this being a close game, UW 42, BGSU 17 (overrated by the way).
Come BGSU'ers - Bring it on!
-I think that if the Badgers are ready to play and don't kick the ball around this game will not be close.
BGSU is over rater, that was the point never got to in my post about the MAC conference. After decades of treating the MAC like a garbage pail the same dopes have now discovered this wonderful gem in the midwest.
However, the MAC has always been the best of the mid-majors. They can occasionally scare a B10 team for 2.5 quarters and beat Northwestern. I am not surprised entirely by the new found respect for the MAC that comes from the South. Since Northern Illinois beat Alabama and Maryland a couple seasons ago the SEC and ACC crowd have been busy trying to explain those losses away.
Now the pendulum has swung from the MAC is the B10's punching bag to quality program loss all of the time. Again the facts say something differnt. Last year the Heisman candidate out of the MAC was going to be Charlie Frye. THis time last year his was being touted as a top-10 draft pick by a slew of preseason publications. I think the young man at BGSU is a nice college QB but now every good QB in the MAC seems to be elevated to mythical proportions by people who have never watched a MAC football game in their lives.
UW 35 BGSU 10
-BGSU will use a lot of 8 and 9 man lines.
If the Badgers don't make a ton of big plays down field I will be shocked.
I also expect Calhoun to get a couple seams and have a couple huge runs.
I think the offense will still look like a work in progress but make some plays because BGSU is going to have to gamble.
I love Calhoun flanked out wide crossing seams covered by LB's...he can run forever...I, too, think this is a yawner. The team will be so pumped up for the Emperor and Stocco, yes Stocco, will lead them up and down the field.
38-17.
-BGSU is a very good MAC team because of the QB but their OL is not very good....They will win 8 or 9 games, but I think the Badgers have more talent and are a better team.
Notes on BGSU OL
LT Ron Warren is the only senior (5 th year) average feet not much of a pop
LG Kory Lichtensteiger redshirt-Sophmore (I believe his first season as a starter)
C John Lanning Junior (he is OK very little range but descent pass blocker)
RG Derrick Markray 4th year JR. (he is great big guy but has little lateral quickness. Despite his size has very little pop. Does a good job of shield blocking.)
That last one is my favorite. Where did he get this information. BigAppleBucky is about the only one with some sense. I would correct them but why bother.

To be fair, though, there are Badger fans giving us some credit, too.
-"Wow. I'm not nearly as confident. I still have nightmares of Charlie Frye sitting back and throwing the ball around. And that was when we had some experience on the D line."
-"Call me a pessimist, but this game scares me. Barry's teams are notoriously bad in their first games. I don't see visions of Syracuse, but I do see a highly competitive game. If I was a betting man, I would stay away from this one. Way too unpredictable if you ask me."
-"If you think this game will be a cakewalk for UW, then you're either being disingenuous or lying to yourself about the talent-level of this team."
-"I wish I shared your confidence. I'd be THRILLED with a one-point nailbiter of a win. If you really think UW is going to blow out BGSU, get thee to Vegas - I'm guessing the oddsmakers will have a different take on the game. If this opens as a push, I'll quickly put $100 on BGSU - and yes, I'd be happy to lose the bet."

Sounds like locker room wall material to me. Let them think that way if they want. They're setting themselves up for a surprise.
For someone who doesn't even know that this is Lichtensteiger's second year as a starter, that poster seems to think he knows more about Lanning than most of us probably do.

That helmet looks very familiar. In fact, it looks just like the one on my desk that I took a picture of for this site.mk455 wrote:you stole my avatarfroggyvk wrote:Let them think what they want for now. One problem with that...these are Wisconsin fans, not the players. You can guarantee that the players are not overconfident at all. Alvarez will have them ready. We need to play a near perfect game to win on the road against any Big Televen team.able1 wrote:Sounds like locker room wall material to me.

I think there is a good mix of opinions. There are quite a few folks over there who understand that UW doesn't start well.
For every over confident person over there, we have just as many - if not more - over here.
It's not like they are other Big TEleven schools where EVERY fan is overconfident because of breeding/culturalization/programming or a mix of all three. There's a reason Kool-Aid is Scarlet in color.

I did both of those. I took several pictures, some with the strap unfastened, and some with it fastened. I changed the logo when we were thinking about updating the website with it.mk455 wrote:haha, i changed it tho, i got rid of the strap, and i duno who it was that changed the logo.. but that parts different too
Not that I have a problem with you using it. I just think it's funny you said someone else stole it from you.
I probably did. I first registered here only a couple of days ago, and didn't know where to go to find a nice avatar, so I probably just searched a thread, found an avatar I liked and used that. I think I got my signature from Dayons Den.mk455 wrote:you stole my avatarfroggyvk wrote:Let them think what they want for now. i took out the strap myself in photoshop... i've never seen the other pictures that you took. if you've still got the other pictures i'd like to see em.BGSU Falconz wrote:I did both of those. I just like to go over there and read their nonsense. It fires me up. Posting there is a loss cause as far as I am concerned. They read what they want to. None of them can possibly believe that there are players on our team besides Omar Jacobs that stack up against theirs. I will take every one of our skill posistions and half of our offensive line if I had to pick between the two. There are a couple defensive players I would take too. Let them think what they want, they will soon realize that there is plenty of talent that is developed outside of the BCS. 26 days.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:Most of the posters over there seem pretty sane and logical. There are a few B11 chest-pounders like Dahlgren but you'll have that. More of us should get over there as game day nears to have some good discussion about the game.
