Please forgive me if this is old news.
At any rate, I'm really pulling for you guys!
If not for Ann Arbor, I'd be in Madison.

Head start: In what has to be an unofficial record for earliest preparation for a season opener, defensive coordinator Bret Bielema spent the last 15 to 20 minutes of practice Wednesday giving his unit an early look at Bowling Green's offense.
The Badgers open against Bowling Green on Sept. 3 at Camp Randall Stadium. The Falcons return six starters, including junior quarterback Omar Jacobs, from a unit that averaged 44.3 points and 506.3 yards per game. Last season, Jacobs threw 41 touchdown passes and just four interceptions in 462 attempts.

I haven't seen that posted...thanks! Their defense better spend more than 15-20 minutes discussing BG in the future though

That is early

Normally BA begins game prep the week before the first game, or at least after the team breaks camp and returns to campus.
Of course, BA has always said good things about opponents, but he's been even more complementary about BG than he was, for example, last year before meeting CFU.

Judging from today's Blade, it sounds like Wisconsin may have started discussing Bowling Green before Falcon coaches have focused on Wisconsin.

I was in Columbus on July 31 and I happened to hear the OSU shills on 1460 interviewing Barry Alvarez. Herbstreit said that he loves following teams like Wisconsin 2005 because no one expects much of them, but they will invariably suprise some teams this fall. B.A. said something like we'll know how good we are after our first game against Bowling Green. They are a very good team and we will have to play an excellent game to beat them.
I would have asked about 3 follow-up questions about BG, but I am not an OSU shill
I have hear Lou Holtz blow smoke up everyone's butt, I have heard coachspeak from Alvarez before, but even against Ohio State he sounds more confident than against BG. I heard fear, personally.

It'd be foolish for any coach to not be prepared for any game, so of course he's going to say that. The question that remains to be answered will be are Wisky's players prepared? Barry can build up BG, but if his players have that "oh it's just a small school" mentality...it might be a long game for Bucky.

Somebody pointed out to University of Wisconsin defensive coordinator Bret Bielema during media day earlier last week that Bowling Green was supposed to have a good quarterback.
Notes: QB Jacobs puts defense on alert
"That's what somebody said," Bielema said in his best deadpan voice.
It goes on to mention Bielema was involved with recruiting Omar Jacobs:
"I recruited him when I was down there, working at Kansas State and at Iowa, during my transition years," . . .

Let's circle back around to the topic at hand, shall we? We could cast stones all day betwix the Conference of Aves and the Conference of Small Ill-Tempered Woodland Creatures.
So, let's not waste the server space.
