What happened to Uniforms?

The Falcons played great against the Sooners. However, being a follower of BG over the years I was kind of disappointed with the new uniforms and helmet design. BG was one of the few traditionally rich schools that stuck with tradition and wore a classic uniform. As it is currently, you can not see the Falcon logo and the jersey looks like a second grader failed an art class. The University and athletic department should not submit to marketing ploys in making a quick buck.
BOOMER SOONER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not too many people like the new logo on the helmut but most of us like the new Uni's. My first opinion of them was that they looked like the Miami Hurricane's but the design is actual considered the modern uniform design. You might actually see a lot more schools switching to similar ones in upcoming years.

The logo on the helmet is not that different give it up people. It's annoying people ask for change and once they get it, we get the same people crying about something different. We get a new scoreboard that people have been crying about for years once it's installed what do we get? We get people saying that the scoreboard isn't this and it isn't that. Come on they made a change for the better. The athletic dept. is heading in the right direction, I think it's a huge step that they're doing something in the first place.

I said not too many people like to logo, I never said I didn't. All I see on this site is people complaining about it so I thought it was alright to make that observation. I will agree that it isn't all that different and I don't have any problems with it.

I agree with Dr. Sooner. I think we should keep as much tradition as possible. But I DO like the new unis, they're snazzier looking.

I wouldn't have chosen those uniforms. I would have reached back to the late 1950s for a new design, sort of like what the Indianapolis Colts are wearing right now, but in brown and orange.
The redrawn logo is fine. I think we'll get used to it.

I'm with Schadenfreude on this one. Our new uniforms are shiite.

CRIMINY! I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, but give Krebs and the department some slack! Sometimes people on this board get to be like 90 year-old crotchity old men... "In my day, we didn't have these new fangled U-NEE-FORMS! We used to play football with real pigs, no helmets, and naked in -10 degree weather, and WE LIKED IT! WE LOVED IT! We'd amputate frost-bitten legs right there on the field!"

Perhaps something like this....
As far as being dissappointed that BG went away from "traditional" uniforms.. I have to question that point. I remember when Erik White came out in the orange jerseys and my dad almost spit up all over himself when he had to root for a #7 QB in an orange jersey...... Our designs have been simple, not traditoinal.

DD, I really like those unis.

But you need to update the helmet logo.

Last night Coach Brandon said they would be wearing all orange this weekend. He also explained how the logo got changed on the helmet. He said he and Sharpie were talking after last season. Brandon took scissors and cut the white part from the logo sticker, put it on a helmet, and both went, "WOW, that looks awesome!!" The rest is history as they say!
GO ORANGE!!!!

I would normally consider myself Old School when it comes to stuff like this, however I really liked the new helmets. I think our colors are very unique. All orange is going to kick. People talk about tradition, but we have traditionally been changing our uniforms for years. I know our helmet has been the same since the 70's, but even prior to that, how many times did we change the helmet? As long as the colors remain, I am all for it. I love all the drawings and ideas, and wouldn't mind seeing them in the future also.
For me, I would love to see orange pants with brown jerseys.
