Anyone know there was a scrimmage today? I saw it in my friends away message and went out to the stadium, sure enough there was one going on. Maybe about 50-75 people there total besides the team but it was great getting a BG football fix in before the season!!!

Yeah, I was one of the kids that Metz was with at the Doyt, and here are some general notes from what I saw.
---The Gyros from South Side 6 are awesome. Thats how we started the day, and they're more than worth it, esp. when its buy 1 get 2 free.
---QB's; Omar looked great when he played, nothing new to report there. Anthony Turner really seems to have some speed running, and a decent arm; not quite Omar-esque though. He threw one INT, and had another couple of balls tipped. Anyone know a white, lefty QB on our team is? He looked allright, but did throw an INT that was waved off because he had gotten "sacked" just before the ball was thrown.
---RB's; Pope didn't play at all, he looked fine, I'm just assuming that they were saving him. BJ played a bit but not too much. Dan Macon #27 looked great both running, and receiving short passes over the middle. Stover #34 played a good bit and looked pretty decent.
---WR's; Sharon caught two TD's, including one short pass that he ran for about 80 yards. Sharon kept dropping passes all day, not sure why that was. Partridge looked great catching passes all day.
---Kicker; Did Timchenko change his number to 36? We didn't see an 87 anywhere. Anyway, most of the day, they had #13 kicking everything, and he was just bad. He missed at least two average length FG's, missed one extra point completely, and hit the upright on another XPoint. His kickoffs weren't much better. The other kicker was #36, and he was only mariginably better. The kicker situation caused us the most concern of anything. Looks like we'll be going for it on 4th down, and for a lot of 2pt. conversions.
---#44 Joe Schaefer picked off Omar off of a ball tipped at the line.
---There seemed to be a decent amount of pressure put on all of the QB's all day, so I don't know if thats good for the DLine, bad for the OLine, or both.
If anyone else has any other thoughts, go crazy. Post away.

Well, I just got a call from Metzger, and he found out just now that #13, IS Timckenko. Oh crap. This is officially bad news for our kicking game. We were hoping that he was some rookie or walk-on. Well crap. As I said, looks like we'll be going for it on 4'th a lot.

It also looks like Omar has been working on his running game. From what I saw, we'll be getting the best of both worlds this season from our QB.

I was there and I thought the D was playing pretty rugged. A lot of tipped balls and solid contact.

I believe that was Sanders, not Sharon.

Sorry, I was typing quickly and didn't proofread

. You're right, it was Sanders who had the 2TD's.

As it happens, I do have some photos from the scrimmage. But I don't see how to display them here. It would help if I could upload them to the gallery, but it seems one must be registered to do that, and I don't see how to register ...

So you're saying then that Sanders is good and Sharon sucks? What will we do!?!? What WILL we do? THE HORROR! THE HORROR! THE HUMANITY!

Actually, the TD by Sanders was about 95 yards I believe.
The left handed QB may have been Benjy Kennedy???
One good thing with Timchenko was that he was kicking the kickoffs inside the 5 or right on the goal line.
Look like we will be either punting and pinning or going for an awful lot of 4th downs this year!!

Ruiz looked very good at TE also...he caught 2 TD passes. One was a very nice diving catch.

Love to hear that. More options on offense are a very good thing.

Last year the guys on here point me to
www.photobucket.com. It's a free picture hosting site.
Once you register you can upload pictures. Then come here and post a message and copy the IMG tag that photobucket gives you.
Hope that helps.

He's made some incredible catches in his career -- but he's dropped more than his share, too. This doesn't strike me as a huge surprise. I guess I had hoped for better, though.
