I know this is early...but i gota toss it out there..

Ok...So you will see that MACMAN is realy a bit off...but oh well.
two years ago when game day came I contacted the UNIVersity about painting our field.....
ORANGE
Yep like Bosie does the blue...we could do a one game Oragne field.
i would llike to think that ...the people from this forum could band together and raise the funds to donate to the University an ORANGE field for our home against Bosie next year....
Wouldnt it be cool!!!!!

The NCAA put strict regulations on the color of ones turf. After Boise had installed their blue turf, the NCAA said no more to the rest of the schools.

Whats the NCAA going to do....keep us out of the National Championship game...
The NCAA is about as usfull as the UN.
We need a new governing body.

Boise grandfathered the rule like falconman said.
As far as the NCAA goes? They could remove our charter, suspend the school from all post-season play, take away scholarships, etc.
Do I really need to go on?

and we could do what any growing entity would do....form a new NCAA, and get other schools to sign on, and run it like the BCS.....

You have an absolutely fabulous idea. One I've wondered why we don't do it.
To hell with the NCAA. They don't control college football. All you have to do is stand up to them. The grass on our field is green it's just the artificial coloring we put on the blades of grass that make it appear orange.
We can put white paint on the green.
We can put a multicolor MAC logo on the green.
We can put ORANGE on the green and use brown for the hash marks and sidelines.
We'll put it back to the green color when we play TU. After all, it's bad enough to have to listen to them scream when we water down the field. I sure don't want to listen to how the paint running on the water-downed field is why they lost the game 8)

Yes...I've often said that what our football program lacks is a field that's painted up like the finest hookers new Orleans has to offer.

Nothing screams "We aren't a big time college football program" than a gimmicky stunt like that.
That would be an embarrassingly bad idea.
