Good News: Looks like Johnson's sore arm is gonna keep him out of this Saturday's game against the Lions. So Josh should see more/earlier action.

Bad News: Threw two picks in practice yesterday.

Some stuff from today's Plain Dealer:

"Johnson's injury has meant plenty of reps for backups Josh Harris and Lang Campbell, who each threw a pair of interceptions Wednesday"

"Pick parade: The defense closed out practice with four interceptions. The good-hands teams included Gary Baxter, Orlando Ruff, Chris Crocker and Michael Grant. Two were off Josh Harris and two were off Campbell. Michael Jameson dropped another. Crennel attributed the picks to heads-up play by the defense, "but some of them might've been bad throws, too," he said."

That raises an interesting question: should the blame for an interception always lie with the QB? I guess sometimes it might be the fault of the receiver for not running his route correctly. And maybe you might put it down to a calling a bad play. Maybe sometimes a DB will move into a passing lane in a way that the QB couldn't have foreseen. Or would you say that, if the receiver isn't open, the QB should just hang onto the ball and take the sack if need be?

Shhh....Omar is great because he only threw FOUR. We can't let it out that some of that was fortuitous fortunes. Of COURSE it is all the QB's fault, unless it serves our purpose for it not to be.

Further confirmation that Harris is struggling in practice comes from The Morning Journal:

"Practice was ruled by the offense early yesterday and then by the defense. The offense's dominance dropped off severely when Josh Harris and Lang Campbell were at quarterback.

"Wide receiver Andre Davis made the play of the day when he jumped and reached over Antonio Perkins to catch a pass from Frye. Frye clapped as Davis turned and ran upfield. The play drew cheers from fans.

"Dilfer rifled a pass Steve Heiden hauled in running straight down the middle of the field.

"When Harris and Campbell played, it was all defense. Orpheus Roye stripped the ball from Harris and ran 5 yards into the end zone. Gary Baxter picked off a pass from Harris. Orlando Ruff, Chris Crocker and Michael Grant each intercepted a pass by Campbell."

Let's hope he can sort things out before the game against Detroit.
