Senior is BGSU career leader with 28 TD receptions

Aug. 19, 2005

Tallahassee, Florida - Bowling Green State University senior wide receiver Charles Sharon (Palatka, Fla.) is one of 33 players on the initial watch list for the 2005 Biletnikoff Award which is given to the top receiver in Division IA each season.

Last year, Sharon caught 66 passes for 1,070 yards and a school-record 15 TDs. He ranks fifth on the BGSU all-time list with 158 career receptions and 2,422 yards and is the all-time Falcon leader with 28 receiving scores.

The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc., (TQC Foundation), the creator and sponsor of the Biletnikoff Award (presented annually to the nation's outstanding college football receiver), is an independent, charitable organization founded in 1994. Braylon Edwards of Michigan won the award in 2004.

Over 50 Prominent journalists, commentators, announcers, and former players select the winner through a process audited by a CPA firm. While the TQC Foundation Trustees manage the organization, they have no role in the winner's selection. The award is presented annually on the ESPN College Awards Show and the TQC Foundation hosts the party at Walt Disney World for the finalists and sponsoring organizations of the many awards presented on ESPN.
