I love the attitude on this team, almost to a man.

"We'll play each game like it's our last and take it one game at a time."

I'm pretty sure the team has a "dedication/attitude" award they hand out after each season, right? If BJ Lane doesn't have his hand on that this year, I'd like to see who deserves it more. It seems like he's been a hair behind PJ for four years, and while PJ has the numbers and the props, BJ's attitude on more than one occasion now has flat out impressed me. In the era where players think "me first" (*cough*Ron*cough*Lewis*cough*), he's taken to his role and made the team better in the process. I hope he gets his share of touches this year, he deserves 'em.

And congrats to the former walk-ons now holding scholarships. That's gotta be a rough spot to be in, and to stick it out for four years is a hell of an accomplishment.

Now that all the warm fuzzies are out of the way, lets go kick Bucky's tail! :D

You make an excellent point about B.J.

Imagine his angst, being stuck behind P.J. all this time.

He's a trooper. God bless him.

"Team player" is a cliche. He is one, absolutely.

I met BJ Lanes father after the Purdue game a couple years ago, and they were quite comfortable with his role. He said that his son brings a quicker change of pace than PJ, but realizes that PJ is the feature back. He obviously wanted the best for his son, but stated that what was best for the team, was best for BJ.

Glad to hear my thoughts on BJ seem to be backed up by his family. :D Having never met any of the players or family members, and just going by quotes here and there, I liked what I heard from him. I'm thrilled that I was right!

BJ Lane was my neighbor when I lived in Rodgers, him and Crumpler.

They both seemed to be very decent level headed guys.

Although, BJ did kick Sanders ass one night in a fight in the hall way.

They were having a water gun fight in the hallway and they got sanders pretty good. BJ and Mike left, Sanders came back with a bucket full of water and was waiting for them to come back. Sure enough, as soon as they walked back in their room sanders popped around the corner and dumped it all on BJ. He got pissed and tackedl steve in the hallway, Mike was pissed too cos he had a bucket full of water on their floor.

It kind of funny to watch. our door was open and we saw the whole thing
