i will tell you in a sentence.
NO YOUTH FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!

My wife works in Toledo and I can do my job just about anywhere, and well if you love hockey, swimming, soccer (year round how disgusting), baseball and basketball bg is a great place for kids. but if you love the sights and sounds of football...and little kids with helmets on ...BG is not for you...some spots in Toledo have CYO football, there is a partial youth league in Rossford...but NW ohio is soft on football..
We had to move, I could not take it anymore, and the HS my lord they get some nice sized kids but their skills are so far behind...has anyone from that school gone on to D1 football in recent years. Its sad....it makes me wonder what the state of football is in the USA. Used to be you played Football or soccer water polo or crosscoounrty inthe fall, bball, wrestling, gymnastics, hockey inthe winter and LAX, Track, baseball soft ball tennis in the sprin...now is soccer all blody year, hockey starts ...well allyear too. Kids need choices and diversity

BG does have a flag football program. Third through sixth grades, was a lot of fun the one year my son played.

On the CYO topic, kids that are members of St. Aloysuis and St. Thomas Moore parishes in BG combine with St. Rose in Perrysburg to field teams. They have one team of seventh and eigth graders, one of sixth graders, and one of fifth graders. My son played last year as a fifth grader and it was excellent. Very well run, organized, good competition. I can't say enough about the program. Well, except for having to go up to Perrysburg for practices, but that is a small sacrifice for the experience these kids are gaining.

I have never understood why BG did not have youth football...

youth soccer... baseball... basketball... hockey... but no football... I would've loved to play football over soccer back in the day out at carter park.

Tell me what's wrong with soccer, and then I'll listen to you. Where I'm from (Chicago) its easily the most popular youth sport, and nationally its growing. I played soccer for eight years in my youth and still love it to this day. Have you ever taken serious interest into playing or watching soccer? Its the world's most popular sport for a reason. As soon as you can give me a legit series of reasons as to why its not a worthwhile sport I'll listen to you.

edit: The real reason this town sucks is because I have to drive to Toledo to get some damn White Castle. :x

1. Only sissies kick
2. Running is not a talent
3. Any sport in which acting hurt is a trained skill needs to go

And the real reason BG sucks is because I'm no longer there. 8)

Okay, this thread is not what I expected. I feel like I'm doing a lot more filtering and glossing over more redundant things then ever, well at least since last year about this time if you know what I mean. Remind me fellas, does the football section deal with BGSU Falcon football or just any football game that happens to be, or in this case not be in BG. Also, why am I reading about UC and Huggins in the Falcon hoops section, other than the lame attempt to connect Dakich to the UC job or Huggins to BG, when I can read another thread on the exact same subject posted one day prior in the Other Schools forum.

I am assuming you either don't have kids, or your spouse takes care of them all the time. Because if you did have kids or did take care of them a fair amount of the time, then you would love soccer. Soccer gives your kids a chance to run around crazily and get rid of that energy they have built up; instead of getting rid of that energy in the living room after you get home from work.

Also they need shots, and baths, constant attention, de-wormed. the comparisons go on and on.

Got three kids (11, 9, and 7). None of them play soccer. They do play football, basketball, baseball, softball, bowling. They are not wussie, geeky kids. That is why they play real sports and not soccer.

Can't stand soccer. BORING!!!!!! What kind of sport is it when you expect one team not to score??? How exciting is that? If somebody scores early in the game, you might as well go home because they put in 18 defenders and don't even try to score again. :axe: ::puke:: :vom:
