According to Len Pasquarelli the Falcons have released Peerless Price. Should be good news for Cole.

Which moves Cole up to #3. Not a starting position but still on the actual NFL squad.

sounds like Cole is competing for the 5th spot. there is a pole on Atlanta's front page which is looking good for him.

The coach also said he wants the 5th person to be able to play special teams and pick up other positions if necessary, which i would say is a good thing for Cole. He also stated that Cole will play on thursday.

Cole's 4th string WR. Unless he falls off that, he's on the team.

He better be. I drafted Cole as my last pick in the rookie draft for the keeper league that I'm in. I placed him on my developmental roster for now, but I hope to activate him someday (this year or next). The people drafting chuckled at my pick, but the ironic thing is I think I'll be the one laughing down the road.

they way the coach sounded yesterday in the press conference is that they will only keep 5 on the roster.

here is the lineup now

WR_X
1) Dez White
2) Brian Feinneran
3) Roddy White
4) Cole Magner

WR_Y
1) Michael Jenkins
2) RombyBryant
3) Will Pettis

So basically he is competing with White, Pettis, and I think some guy named Bratton. The coach also said there is a chance they bring in a WR from another team for the 5th spot. Although it did sound like those who didnt make that 5th spot would at least be on the practice team.

from the Atlanta Journal Constitution:

"I didn't find out until midway through practice and I was down because Peerless was gone," Magner said. "This business is crazy. I have to take it as a great opportunity, though. They're going to pick the best guy and hopefully I'll get something done."
