Check on the Rockets Report. Lots of capital letters. There's no one trying to minimize what is going on over there. Actually, it sounds like stuff I've heard. Amstutz only wants to be liked. The defense is a sieve. And the offense is too predictable. Hmmm.

This is, in all seriousness, NOT funny. As much as I hate Toledo and feel they got what was coming to them after their incessant BS at the end of last season, the MAC looks like a conference of CHUMPS right now. We're not going to make it to being a big time conference if this keeps up. We need all the OOC wins we can get.

Its worth it. We're not going to make it as a big time conference, even if this didn't keep up. I want to win the West and beat Toledo, two closely related goals, and their stinking directly moves us closer to both goals. Not to mention that we often end up competing for recruits.

They've got some problems up there at UT. Undergrad enrollment is off close to 6% this year putting them third in NW Ohio behind BGSU and Owens CC. Budget cuts are likely in the offing.

There was a lot of talk about dissatisfaction amongst the players on their board last spring. Apparently, some things were said by the coaches after their loss to us that didn't sit well with some of the players. The source for this info was a Marshall fan, but he had info on specific players (Martin and Stevens) leaving the program well before that info became public. It would appear that this individual did have a source inside the team.

Some of their fans are wondering if the brawl hasn't been the distraction that has lead to the early season issues. I think the brawl and the early season losses are a sign that the coaching staff may very well have lost this team.

The games like WMU getting throttled by VaTech and BallsTate getting crushed by Purdue make me cringe. What Toledo's done in the past two weeks makes me laugh until my sides hurt. I still wonder what John "the turd" Harris is thinking...

The funniest thread I read at the spRocket Report was one that said "Amstutz needs to start treating all the players the same. Handle the first string the same as the fourth. Pinkel was like that, no matter where you played, if you messed up, you got ripped for it." (paraphrasing) They then mentioned the fight and how all that happened was a third and fourth stringer getting suspended and kicked off the team, how that was wrong.

Funny, I didn't think it was "wrong", I thought that's all that was involved after Tommy's "thorough investigation into the matter".

F*** Toledo, and the phallic looking mascot they rode in on.

The rockets losing their OOC games is one thing, but to be beaten by a combined score of 126-35 is humiliating. Part of me wants to laugh at this but I cannot. It would be different if they were the only MAC team getting their butts handed to them.

The Toledo Diocese 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade CYO football teams had round robin scrimmages at the Glass Bowl this afternoon. As my son's team was waiting to get their pictures taken, this HUGE, FAT guy driving a minivan with dealer plates drove right up to the stadium, running over several kids in the process. People were screaming at the guy. As he got out of the vehicle, everyone noticed the man's eyes were all glazed over and he just seemd to be staring off into space. It was about then that everyone recognized him as being coach Amstutz. Apparently he was in a hurry to get to the stadium to see the best teams that will play in the Glass Bowl all season.

By the way, all of this is true except for the part about Amstutz running over the kids. I made that up.

I think you missed the part about the Falcons being the best team to play in the Glass Bowl this year. ;)

After all the crap the UT fans have been spouting the last 8 months about how they were gonna "take back what is ours" (MAC West title), I can't stop laughing at the total @ss kickings they're received these last two weeks!     Where is Brucie and this point a minute offense?? I knew their "defense" was gonna be swiss cheese but this is ridiculous. Guys like myself, SF, Redwingtom, Factman, Ticky Falcon, Dr Torch and all the other BG fans can vouch for the arrogant attitudes of the UT faithful. Stuff like "Enjoy your 1 title...it will be a while til you win another". "Who has Omar played against? Nobody." "We can outscore anyone." Blah Blah Blah. I won't apologize for watching this UT debacle with glee! One thing you can say...UT is consistent in giving up points!

I'm all for the MAC doing well but F the Rockettes....I want them to lose every game, every year. That program is on the verge of imploding and it couldn't happen to a nice coaching staff and team of thugs, er players. Things are catching up to them in a hurry.

The funny thing is that even if they WERE scoring a point a minute, that wouldn't be enough!

A. We better watch how much we are laughing at UT right now...We aren't going to be happy if at the end of the season, they give us a great big S**t burger to eat.

B. I agree with some of the other posts. The OCC losses all make the MAC look like a POS conference. We are officially on the day old bread rack.

C. I know I will probably get brow-beated for this, but the only hope I think we have is to continu to win. We need to run the table the ret of the season. We need to win OCC games next season. For BG to step up to the next level, I think we need to win a lot. This way we become attractive to another conference and can step out of the MAC into, hopefully, a BCS conference. I know that the cards are stacked against us and that is a long shot, but that is the only way I can see our growth continue unless there are some dramatic changes in the NCAA.
