ok, for those of you who dont know me by now i am a 19yr old Soph at Purdue University. i have lived in Lafayette/West Lafayette my entire life. i was a long time fan of Urban Meyer followed him from ND to BG and didnt feel like making the move to Utah with Urban (although i still love him). so kept BG and ND as my 2 fav. teams. i love all of college football in general, but BG is by far #1 in my heart and then ND is a somewhat close #2 and then there is a pretty big drop off to Purdue, Michigan, Boise, Mississippi St, Florida and many others... right well i attended my 1st ever BG game in 2003 and that was with my best friend and my dad @PU. but that was no big deal since it was a 10min drive and they are both HUGE Purdue fans. But i could only talk my dad into taking me to the Toledo game as well that year since its such a far drive, then last year i was able to talk both of them into coming to the Marshall game at the Doyt. That was great, but now this year there werent too many games looking worthy of driving too, certainly our season rides on 4games only really. Although my dad and my best friend to like BG now they still arent in love with them like me and dont want to go to every single game. So i was talking to my dad this past weekend asking him what games we could go to. He said "i think i'll pass this year". Of course i was crushed but instantly tried to figure out why, and it was basically b/c its such a long drive, and gas prices are so high, and he got a speeding ticket the 1st time up there, and other reasons along those lines. So i did talk him into going to the game at Ball St and my best friend also wants to go! (i will get to that in a minute). But basically he said we will wait and see how the games against Wiscy and Boise go before we make any plans. So we cant go to the Toledo game b/c its during the week and we have school and work. But he did say if we start off 3-0 that he would be willing to make 1 trip to the Doyt, maybe to see a WMU or an Ohio game, which is what i really want to do, so i really hope more than ever now that we at least win those 1st two big games!!! ok now about the Ball St game... we order tickets through BG in that little thing they sent to us in the mail and we got our tickets in today! So if any of you are making the trip to Muncie IN... David (thats me), Ken (my dad), and Michael (my best friend) will be sitting in Section G, Row 24, seats 18,19, and 20... and we will be wearing our Orange to bring on the Onslaught from BG, and hopefully BG will come out of that game 2-0 with confidence heading into the smurf, so that we all can see a game at the Doyt this year!!! hope to see you all soon!

Glad to hear you willl be there David. Like you said, with gas prices so high it is tough. I am not sure that I will be able to do Wisconsin and Ball St. back to back. It's so expensive just to drive to BG now. I would like to go though. Go falcons.

If you make a poster with AZZ.com or something on it and come by the band, I'm sure we can get some band kids from this site to come down and say hi. :)

Correction. With expectations so high, they are ALL must-win games. :)

Exactly. MAC games are always most important.

The Freaks will be there as well! I know gas prices are high but we'll just make sacrifices in other areas of our home life so we have the gas $$$. I mean the Freaklings have enough of those damn Burger King Meal toys anyway!!! LOL! No high gas prices are gonna keep us from 8 games this regular season.

Kdog,
You aren't kidding...130 miles one way to BG for us. :(

C you all in Muncie!

GO FALCONS! THUMP WISKY!

Yeah, the recent spike in gas prices has me thinking I might skip Homecoming which I was planning to go to and hit one of the late October games before coming back for UT week. Of course, it doesn't help that one of the girls in my department is having a kid late in September, which kind of makes getting time off like pulling teeth!

Well at least I am not in Youngstown now, so the drive is basically cut in half. Falconboy is correct gas prices are going play a role for a lot of us. It does not matter that tickets prices are cheap when you are paying triple that in gas.

Ahem ... they'll be no griping about distances to BG here, please.

Actually, one of the reasons I booked flights for Noah & I was to, hopefully, beat the anticipated hikes in air fare. We got r/t tickets for just a shade more than we paid last year. :)

I haven't purchased our tickets yet. I will do so next week at Memorial Hall. I am sure we will have no problem congregating with the Falcon Fans and AZZers even if our sections don't match up.

We are driving over and my buddy, who is a pilot, is FLYING from BG airport to Muncie with his girlfriend so I may have to leave tailgating for a few minutes to pick them up. SOunds kinda crazy but it may actually be as cheap as driving!!!

Just look for the flags flying high in the parking lot to find us before the game!!

I posted and got some good tailgating tips over on the MACBBS in the Ball State section. We'll have to formulate a plan sometime next week.
