Penalties

I don't think much has been said about the silly procedural penalties (delay, false starts, offsides, illegal forward pass....)

It's a little concerning to me to see these kinds of mental errors happening with such regularity. At OK they weren't quite as prevalent, so maybe we're playing to our competition. That's not good either though.

Yes, Not Good

The penalties were horrible lastnight. There was one play in particular that Omar was running to his right looking for a reciever , he was practicly passt the line of scrimmage and should've turned on the jets on took off running. A really dumb penalty that shouldn't have been. Man, the 4th qrtr was atrocious.

With 2 weeks to kill before NIU, I suspect the second and third units are going to have a lovely time at practice the early part of this week

Lets hope so! If not, I could see some big games going the other way just because of the penalties...

While I have all the confidence in the world in the kicking game, I was a little upset that we "settled" for three a few times. Granite they were 4th and 7-10, but I think against teams like NIU, Western, Marshall, Turdledo, we need to be converting on 3rd down.

I am hoping it is just Omar getting the bugs out. Can't remember who posted it, but some of our drives just seemed to die. I hope that is something we work on in the next 2 weeks.

I'm not concerned about not putting the ball in the endzone. The same thing happened early last year and everyone was concerned. They got it fixed last year and I think they'll get it fixed this year.

Those threes put points on the board. Sometimes you have to take'em as you get'em.

Nice work by our third and fourth string guys who won't be seeing much action this year (except at Toledo).
