For those that laughed....

Post by hammb »

All those that laughed off our kicking game, you're now seeing what we were talking about. Our Special Teams play has been abysmal and will cost us 2 games this season....today being #1 if we don't come back.

Missed XP
KOR to the 8
We get a KOR of about 7 yards
TERRIBLE punt coverage allowing a 25 yard return
A 15 yard personal foul for hitting the KR

Abysmal special teams play...I'd fire the ST coach at halftime, if it were me...

How about the fact that our kickoffs are being caught at about the 20 every time? Short kickoffs will eventually burn you.

i agree our special teams has been bad, but holy crap we know they are going to run the ball and still Calhoun is getting untouched for 9 yards per carry, we need a big break in the 2nd half
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

Actually, the high, relatively short kickoffs have been alright. It's the deep, low ones you have to watch for. On that long return, I said out loud, this is going to be bad. It came in fairly low and he was able to get a running start before the first defender was even near him.

I'll take the high kickoffs that drop around the 15 over the low line drives any day. At least it gives the coverage a chance.

Oh, and Trev is a douche.

i wouldnt mind the high kicks as long as they call fair catch, i hate giving them such good field position though

The high kicks definitely are not ideal.. don't get me wrong. They are just going to work out better than the lower line drives that drop at the goal line. If he can't get the deep kicks a little higher, we're going to see alot of big returns.

On a positive note, nice 37 second drive.

I agree our kicking and defense is horrible.

Patridge and Sanders have looked very very good so far.
