Everyone settle

Our defense may not look too good right now, but remember that we are going against some very, very good RB's and huge O-line.

I am saddened to see the negativity around here right now. I understand that this is frustrating, but it is not the end of the world.

What pisses me off, is that I haven't seen a single considerable defensive change. Same formation, same personnel. We're getting our butts handed to us.

The defense was supposed to be better this year...Wisconsin was supposed to be a middle of the road offensive team...The D played better against Oklahoma last year. It's not negativity it's extreme let down...

36 carries, over 200 yards, and we still got 4 DB's in. Yeah, I hope we didn't pay too much for this DC because he isn't looking like he's worth a dime.

The only difference between this and OU is that Stoops wanted to develop the passing game in the second half. This is just flat embarrassing.

We are up for the worst special teams in American award again and the defense isn't far behind. The game with Ball State will tell alot.

Yeah...our defensde will settle right down against Ball State. We'll be right were we need to be.

If we want BG to be on the next level our D needs to pick up this is truely a pathetic display. They put so much pressure on the offense to go out and try to score every single possession.

And remember, this game is meaningless in terms of our team goals this year -- winning the MAC. That isn't just "safety speak" on the part of the coaches or the team.

It's termed meaningless but that's not the attitude to have. The D was exposed today. It's nice to cream the bottom tier teams of the MAC but when there are high expectations going into the season no games should be dubbed meaningless.

Don't you all get it? This team still has a chance in this game and a great chance for the rest of the season.

Does anyone recall what happened to Turdledo last year?!?! And they CERTAINLY weren't playing Wisconsin in those first two games. :?

Saddened? Yes... but surprised?? No... this is one of the most negative groups. It's so weird. I don't get the dynamics of this board and its members.

It's not negativity. I'm not being negative when i say the D looks horrible today. I'm being realistic. They are getting beat when I know what's coming. If I know what's coming then they should too. It is major dissapointment in what was once optimism...not negativity.

And saying the game doesn't matter is a stupid statment. Tell that to the players and I bet they'll want to kill you. The game matters to the players, it matters to the school, and it matters to the conference as far as making a name for the MAC.

Stating the obvious isn't being negative. I live and die with my brown and orange, but I can't make excuses for that defensive performance. I realize we have the rest of the season to look forward to and I still think we could win 9 or 10 games. But, when you have a player like Omar and that ofense, its disappointing not have a defense to go with it. I am not looking for a dominating D...just one that can hold a team down a bit so our offense has the chance to outscore them.

Yep, the defense kinda blew it today. I missed Suisham pretty badly today as well. Our punt returns were pathetic. Special teams weren't all that special. But despite it all, it wasn't really OVER until Sharon dropped that pass practically IN the end zone. We would've been down by one touchdown and maybe could have gotten something done to work some magic and pull it out. Do I think this game is going to make our season come to a screeching halt? No. Do I think it was meaningless? No. Does it hurt our position in the MAC? No. Do our defense and special teams have a HELL of a lot of work to do? Hell yes. Can Omar and our stellar O carry us through the season? Apparently not. We know what needs to be done. Omar made a hell of a statement today and got a good start to his bid in the Heisman race. I hope our defense's performance and subsequent loss don't hinder Omar's shot at the Heisman. That would be even more sad than today's loss. Which could have easily been a win. Damnit.
