I don't think anybody could possibly have predicted our D would be that bad. It looked like we were fielding pee-wee players.

This is about my 12th post in an hour about the D but it looks worst than last year. I didn't think that was possible.

Same here. Initially in the offseason I was thinking that it would be bad this year, but then others talked me into believing it might be better this year. This was absolutely the worst defensive line performance I've ever seen. You cannot be a top 25 team with Special teams & Defensive play like this.

Agree with hammb

It looked like we were throwing a D-III defense out there I've never seen anything so abominable in 34 years of watching football. The only thing remotely close to it was the BG/NIU game last year.

Looking back upon the game I wasn't very shocked to know that our defense would be less better than last years team, I think that we should switch to another defense, maybe a 4-4 so we can get some LB's in the gaps...

One game down and we're ready to make that statement about the defense for the year?

My prognostications on the defense....

where based on the interior lineman getting alot bigger. I said if we get guys like Cooley and Thaler up to 290-295 and Davis and Curtis up to 295 to 300lbs we should fair pretty decent against Wisk's O-line, but only if the foramentioned things happened , they didn't and we saw the result. We also have guys on the starting linebacking corps that should be playing saftey. Guys like Terrill White and probably Jamien Johnson as well. Their so called "speed" had absolutly no effect whatsoever. Not one near sack on Stocco. If I was Lovett I'd put either Briggs or Parks or maybe Schaefer at LB and and bring Winovich in as well. Besides bringing in a little less experienced but bigger guys can't make our run defense any worse can it? :-\

I am just as much of a Falcons fan as any of you guys on here. But with the poor defensive display that we had on saturday how can we even expect tp win a MAC championship, let alone the MAC east. Our defensse is terrible. Enough said, now who's going to Ball State?

I would like to know how many teams in the MAC have O-lines comparable in size to Wisconsin. If you rise aboce zero, I would venture you are mistaken. In addition, I think their running back was better than anyone we might see in the MAC. So before we give up the season, I would rather play the games and see how we finish!!

We really don't know about the pas defense for BG though.... the amount that Wisconsin ran the ball just killed BG... luckily BG doesn't play Northern Illinois...
