Anyone else listen to the play-by-play?
I tried.
Lord knows, I tried.
Which is more than I can say about the announcers.

I listened the radio network (as opposed to 88.1) and I think Todd and Gibby do a nice job.
Yeah it's not NFL-caliber, but personally I'd take any of those two guys over the clown CBS has doing the call on the Browns games. That guy sounds like he's got a mouthful of mashed potatoes the whole game.
Two pieces of feedback though --
I wish I could hear the crowd a bit more during the game. The broadcast just sounds very bland -- if there's a crowd mic somewhere in the stadium it needs to be jacked up a bit for effect.
Todd has a great voice and a very frank "tough" style, but I think the touchdown call needs a little bit of work. "Touchdown B-G-S-U" is great and unique, but it just doesn't seem to flow at all. The last two letters of "BGSU" tend to get lost and almost seem tedious and the moment loses its emotion. " Both "Touchdown Bowling Green!" and "Touchdown Falcons!" flow naturally a LOT more than the current call, and I'm sure there are others out there.
I think Gibby is pretty funny up in the booth. He really seems to know the guys on the field and has some fun things to add.
No complaints from me on the radio team though -- just a little feedback!

I was listening to 88.1, so that's the team I found so incompetent. Now, I suppose someone's going to tell me that they're overworked BG News guys trying to supplement their $30 biweekly salaries.
I couldn't find a BGSU network station.

The sports broadcasts on 88.1 are rarely any good. However, similar to the BG News, they are just students trying to learn a business. Especially this early in the season, this may be the 2nd game they've ever done.
If you were somewhere to get 88.1 you had to be able to get 107.7 couldn't you? 88.1 is a pretty weak signal that doesn't reach too far away from BG, anywhere you can get that should get 107.7 without too much trouble.

Ive never listened to 88.1 since I run the big network but, I know its students of BG who do the games. You need to remember they are students of the university. it takes awhile to mold into something. it doesnt just happen overnight. You wont find Marty and Joe, but you will have people who might actually care as well. Give them a chance, they are learning as the game goes along. I wish them well....

Have to admit, I took off my headphones after listening to what must've been 88.1 (hard to read on my earphone 'tuner'). I knew it wasn't the main feed, but for some reason, I couldn't pick up the regular crew...
After the kid announcing had corrected himself for about the 4th time in 1st 10 min. or so, I said the heck with it and just focused on the game. I'll be the 1st to say the kids have to learn" on the run" so to speak, but they also must learn to do some homework on both the opponents AND their own team. 8)

Mmmmm. When its the only feed you can get, you'd be surprised what BG's overseas fan base will put up with. Particularly when the alternative is watching Manchester United complete the worst start to their season since 1990. On balance, I'll take the 88.1 feed.

Can you please remove that red devils logo ? Perhaps something more heavenly with red and white stripes would work out. Sir Alex is class, as I was born in Aberdeen and grew up their when he took us to European glory, but that ManU logo is like a New York Yankees logo glaring at me. . .

Interestingly. Man U and the Yankees have some kind of joint commercial agreement, which amounts to something along the lines of selling each others uniform. Not sure what use the Yankees have for Man U gizmos, but the baseball bats are going down a treat at Old Trafford - don't see many visting fans at all these days!
United change their colours pretty much on a weekly basis these days, so there may well be another colour scheme that grabs you better. I'll check it out. If its colour co-ordination you're after, I guess the option is..... Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Anyhow, I don't think you made a bad choice opting for BG once Ferguson moved south. I'm beginning to think moving back to BG might be a smart move myself.

My heavenly red striped comment was my way of saying to put up a Saints logo. . .The Pride Of The South.

That's asking a lot. I'll give it a guest appearance though - I'll drop you a line with the upgrade later!
