around here would love to see Omar and Co. go up against a FSU or
Miami(FL) caliber defense? That would be a matchup for the ages. I'm not talking about an entire game because we'd probably give up 60 pts, but just our O vs their D. That would be a sight to see. Think we could put 30 pts up on em?

Don't you have some concerns regarding QB protection? FSU was in the Miami backfield almost right after the snap on about every play. Our O-Line would get run over.

Watching FSU & Miami, I am always amazed at the team speed. The whole game just seems to be moving at a different pace than any other college football game.

that's why I want to see it. i want to put our guys up against the best and see if our "gimmicky" offense can beat a great defense

We scored 17 against OSU in '03, and 17 (offensively) against OU in '04. Both are defenses on par with Miami or FSU's.

We can score against the best defenses, but not enough to be earthshattering; and certainly not enough to actually win if we have to play defense ourselves.

true, but IMO our offense was not at the level it is now. In 2003 it was Harris leading the way who is not the passer Omar is. In 2004 it was Jacobs' first start. I think that our offensive talent rivals any team in the country. I want to see the offensive performance I saw on Saturday against a proven defensive powerhouse.

People say that the spread is a gimmick that won't perform well againt top defensive units. I think we run the spread right now better than anyone else. I want to see if we could put up numbers like we did against Wisky against a top of the line college defense.
