Dropped 8 spots -- still leaves room to run the table and get back in the rankings before the Miami/UT games.

I'm surprised we got any votes.

I guess we didn't lose as much national credibility as we thought.

Maybe the Wisconsin game truly was a speed bump for this season given that it looks like the MAC is down again this year. A MAC title would still mean progress for this program.

Well, we went toe-to-toe with Wisconsin and hung 530 yards on them, keeping the game in question almost to the final gun. I can see us not getting into the top 25, but to not get any votes would have surprised me mightily.

No one walked away from that game really happy.

Sure, the way Brian Calhoun run wild on our D was horrifying.

But we shamed them too.

I really think we can win the rest of the way. Not saying we will -- but neither Boise State nor Miami look as intimidating as they did before Saturday and we'll just have to wait and see about Toledo.

If I had a vote, I'd keep voting for Bowling Green.

Poor TCU...

and we think we get no respect. They beat Oklahoma, a top 10 opponent, and still don't make the top 25 in the USA Today poll. They should at least be ranked until they lose a game.

The bad news is that Boise is no longer ranked. I would much rather be playing a ranked opponent to give more credibility if we win (I mean when we win). We must have positive thoughts only.

GO BG!!! :supz:

Hey, excellent point, BelieveNBG. I want you to imagine the outcry here if we had beaten Oklahoma last year and not been propelled to the Top 25!

Do you guys truly believe there are less than 25 teams better than us right now? Both my head and heart say "no way" given our defense and special teams.

Give me TCU's defense and I'd put us in the top 10 right now.

I am somewhat surprised Wisky didn't crack the Top 25.
Look how far Boise State fell.

We're still in good shape. One game at a time.

GO FALCONS!!

And Florida State only moves up 1 spot for beating Miami(Fl). This is why polls should not start until game four. Florida State should be number 2 behind the defending champs right now. And I hate Florida State.

Michigan looked almost as terrible as Tennessee did, Michigan moves up to 3 in both polls while Tennessee drops in both. I hate polls this early in the season. It's such a crapshoot, and yet it has so much significance in the landscape of college football.

Freak: I'm not surprised. Remember, they had trouble with a "mid-major" team.

I don't really know. But I do know if we string a bunch of wins together, we probably will be ranked.

I think we are a top 25 caliber team. Do you honestly believe there are that many teams with a line like Wisky's with a running back that runs a 4.29? I doubt it. Let's also give the crowd some credit. Guys get a whole lot of energy when playing at home with a chip on their shoulders. The worst thing that happened to us was being picked by many analysts to win that game. All that did was add fuel to the fire. Also, Wisky had weeks to prepare for us since we were the first team on the schedule. I am sure they planned all along to run and worked weeks on doing just that. Add all of this to the emotion of Alvarez's last season.

We had the same amount of time to plan on stopping that run and we quite obviously failed miserably. Not going to beat the dead horse anymore.

I have a really hard time believing we are a top 25 team right now. Top 25 teams don't get off to a huge start and look like world beaters then give up huge returns on special teams, get 15-yard penalties on special teams (I know he got "pushed", but still....), and get manhandled for 3 quarters. We have one of the top 5 offenses in the country and one of the top 2 QB's in the country, but as a team (and this is a team game), we are not among the 25 best.
