That would drown out our TERRIBLE announcer

But we would have some idiots who would ring the things while we were on offence and ruin that whole thing. Some people's stupid children...

Cow bells seem too high school to me. What's next? Air horns and plastic trumpets?
I don't even care for the thundersticks, to be honest.
How about firearms? Now we're talkin'!
Toledo?

Looks like Toledo had these made at one point.

I am by no means an NCAA regulation guru, but I am not sure you are allowed to have these at games.

Yes, indeed!
BTW, here's how to get White ones, which would look VERY nice with some orange "customization" ...

Cowbells are/were Mississippi State's thing.
And, as was mentioned, I'm not so sure you're allowed to have them (per NCAA rules) either.

From what I gather, NIU and UT fans are still using them. I hadn't heard that the NCAA banned them and that would seem odd. I mean, why is it OK to have 20,000 pairs of thunderstix and no cowbells?

Cowbells are the Columbus Clippers thing.
Yes Miss State is rather upset about a new SEC rule outlawing cow bells at games.
Thunderstix are kind of old but they are cheap, easy to carry/hand out and they are damn loud.
MACMAN- cowbells would be about as embarrassing as your grammer [sic]

Thanks for the link. For those not interested in clicking & reading, it says the SEC banned bells. That makes me wonder if this is done at the conference level.

Last year TU fans were encouraging one another to putting about 20 pennies (cheap b@$t@rd$) in 20 oz soda bottles for the TU-BGSU game

I think it is done at the conference level -- and if I had to guess, I would guess there is no MAC rule.
After all, our stadiums aren't that big.

It's louder when you use an Altoids box.

The plan failed because they forgot to tell the UT students to remove the soda before inserting the pennies.
